Maxis Brand - What If Scenario?

So I was dusting off my old computer today, and I came across an old software I used to have to monitor stocks. Among it was an old article which talked about EA buying out Maxis.

So this year marks approximately the 10 year anniversary since Maxis was acquired by Electronic Arts. We're gonna be entering 2007, and it will mark the 11th year Maxis has been with Electronic Arts.

    So I was thinking...what if?

What IF Electronic Arts decide to phase out the Maxis brand? Would you buy a game developed by the generic EA Games brand? Or would you continue to support Electronic Arts?

Do you think it's a wise idea to get rid of the Maxis brand? Would you be happy if the Maxis trademark faded away?

    Post your thoughts

Disclaimer: This post is intentionally to be a hypothetical situation. This post does NOT mean Electronic Arts has decided to phase out the Maxis brand. There is NO current confirmation EA intends to do so, and there's probably no intention to do so. This question posed is to debate and create a scenario of possiblity.

I think it meant that he would not consider buying anymore games by EA (except for Sims  ).

I have a feeling that they already have phased out Maxis. I mean, the Maxis logo was missing in the Pets game. :(

    suitemichelle Gramma's here!

which might explain the I-don't-care attitude in regards to lack of creativeness and quality of originality in eps. EA needs to wake up and smell the roses.
