Pets EP question I gotten my pets EP yesterday, and the game works fine etc. But my problem is, I made a family (had a preety sim and cutie sim) and also made 2 dogs. Everything was fine till I moved them into a home. When I did that, both my sim faces has changed, no they don't look in-sim-man but they look different from how I made them! I thought maybe my custom sims I made in CAS had problems after I installed pets, so I remade them in CAS and had them in my game. They looked fine in the "make family" part, but till I moved them into ANY home, their face changed! So I tried again (5th try mind you ) and this time I tried making a sim without a partner/family member/roomie and without pets, moved him into the same house (I actually thought the house was bugged ) and he was fine!!! He was the cutie I made, nothing different. So I went back into making him, his wife and both dogs. Moved them into the same exact home, and voila, two unknown faces I was wondering if anyone had this problem? Or maybe its my EP problem? Or it's a bug I should report? Please help, Im so lost :(
Check your game settings (on the save menu). They revert back to default when you load a new EP. Took me a while to realize that's why my sims looked bad.
Look at the "monitor" menu on the save menu (the one where you save the game). There should be a pop-up window that shows your video effects settings, like reflections, sim details, etc. Low sim details means the sims look kind of ugly, with paddles for fingers.
Oh, no ... I meant "ugly" in the sense that, for example, I made a sim that looked like Claire Danes, with pets, and moved them into a home, her face changed to looking like Bella Goth or something But whenever I made a family WITHOUT pets, moved them into a home, they look just the way I made them. In this example, Claire Danes. Due to that, Im worried it's a bug or some sort :(
Huh. My family pictures for my families with pets have been screwed up. The game doesn't show the whole family, and the picture changes every time they return from a community lot. Wonder if it's a similar thing.
Sorry for bringing this thread up again, but Ive been busy for the past couple of weeks so I hadnt even been able to reply. Anyways, what I meant was, each time I made sims at the 'Create A Family' part together with any pet, when I move them into any lot, the sims face change. They don't look defected or weird, but they just turn into a total different sim, meaning their face is totally different from what I made them. I recently formatted my pc and re-installed sims2, and the problem still exists Does anyone face the same issue? Should I post pictures to make this explanation clearer? And I have another question, my sims buy the collars for their pets at the store, so how do I get him/her to put it on their pets? Ive clicked on the pets but there's no actions at all. I checked the sims 'inventory' and its not there either. Am I missing something? Thanks for the help. Any response would really help, Im very lost now :(
I can't help with the first question, but pictures would be helpful I'm sure. As for the second part of your question, have your sim click on the mirror and there will be an option to change your pets appearance. Seems silly since dogs/cats wouldn't use a mirror otherwise, but that's how you change their appearance.
Ok here are the pictures. I made my sim, and she looked fine, and made a pet too. She looked fine at the black room where theres a camera. And I went back to my sim wanting to edit her clothes when I noticed her face has changed. Before this I thought it changed after I moved her into a home, but now I realise it change RIGHT after making a pet. Hence, I think the problem with my game is, the face changes right after making a pet at the "Create A Family".It doesnt happen if I make the sims without pets.The first picture is the sim I made, 2nd picture is after I made the dog, and she still looked fine at the last stage (the black room with the camera) and the 3rd picture is the face change.
That looks like a rendering issue, Jess. Her face is being stretched somehow. Please post up your system specs (cpu, RAM, graphics card, etc. do a dxdiag to find the info ... links should be in my signature)
My pc specs are : (Please tell me if I left any out, Im kinda new to all this lol). Windows XP Professional, Intel(R) Pentium(R) 5 CPU 2.66 GHz, 1 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT and DirectX 9.0c. By far my game works fine, except when I make sims together with pets, their face change. However, if lets say I made a sim, a pet, and another sim (after making the pet), the 2nd sims face is the same with no changes. It only happens each time I make a pet right after the sim :(
Ahh, I can stop worrying now, lol. I was worried that Im the only one facing that issue and didn't know how to report it. Is there a chance a patch will be released to solve this issue?
I'm sure they will release a patch, like they do with every EP. We just don't know when. I'm actually wondering if anyone else is experiencing my Pets EP problem - adults are only being offered teen/elder jobs. Now that's annoying.
