    Downloads not working for clothes...

    Hello,

I am new here and hopefully am posting this in the right place. I have been playing the PC Sims2 game for about 6 months now. I love to go online and download things made by others into my game but out of the tons of clothing I have downloaded only one dress and one outfit have actually made it into my game. Can anyone please tell me where they might be or how to get them to work????? I have Sims2, University, Nightlife and OFB on my computer. I dont have any problems with anything else, furniture, houses, build mode stuff all shows up just fine, its just the clothing. I am not real sure how to use the Body Shop, (have no interest yet in making my own stuff) but have looked and dont see them there either. I only download what is compatitable for my games I have so thats not the issue.

Please help if possible as these Maxis outfits are getting old!!! :(

    Thanks,
    Shannon

Did you also get the meshes required by the outfits? And some of the recolors use meshes from the Glamour Pack (or whatever it's called,) which I didn't buy. So I can't use those downloads.

Some meshes are included with the files you download, some are not. You have to look at the fine print.

Also, you might just go take a look at your downloads folder to make sure the clothing is unpacked in there as it should be.

Ok so here is my next dumb question.... do you know where I find my downloads folder? See when I download items I throw them into a folder and then open up my Sim File Maid 2 and she puts it where it is supposed to go. ( I am not real computer savvy.... :( )

Sorry if I am being a bother but I know I am getting the meshs so I am figuring it must be that "upacking" problem.

    Thanks,
    Shannon

Click Start (in the Windows toolbar)
    Click My Documents
    Double-Click EA games
    Double-click The Sims 2
    Double-click on the Downloads folder

All your downloads will be there. I was only suggesting you look to see if anything was not unpacked properly, but if you have the File Maid they should be there OK.

You might try sorting by date to see if your most recently downloaded clothes are there. When I extract or unpack to the Downloads folder, it dates the stuff for the day I do that.

If you've got the meshes and everything is properly unpacked, then I'm stumped. Perhaps someone else has had a similar problem and will speak up.
