What about this pc specs?

Hi there. I have a P4 3.0Ghz, 1Gb DDR2 ram, Nvidia 6600Gt video card and 80gb IDE hard disk.. Now, I have install all the expansion in my pc.. I'm running it at 1280x1024 resolution..and other settings are high.. when i play it, I will get intermittent lagging.. for eg day become night(vice versa), npcs coming in groups, going on a car.. So i wanted to know what is the best configuration to run it smoothly.. Is it possible to run it without any lag at all?? and btw I have install it in my d: partition(secondary partition but not a 2nd harddisk)... does it affect the performance as well... Thanks a lot..

Have you tried to play the game on a lower resolution, such as 1024 x 768, or lowered some of the settings on the game to see if it makes a difference? Do you have a lot of downloads? - they can really slow the game up.

 

what expansion packs do you have installed? do you have bon voyage? there are quite a few people that are noticing that bon voyage is making there game jumpy, the music freezes for a second or so and they carrys on and some people are notiing it with the game play. from the basic system set up you have told us your system should play sims 2 with no trouble, its more than enough to play sims 2 and the expansions
