i was wondering is there any way to change babys or todlers hair coulor. i wan to get a blond baby an the man has black hair but the mother has blond and i don't understand why it wont work. i want to di it before they are kids
hello everyone yes hello i am back, um, i really think it depends on the luck of the draw. if you want you could save it, then if the colour doesnt change on the babies hair, you can just restart or whatever and go back to playing the family, let her give birth again and see if that changes i dont know if it does.
That's how the genetics work in TS2--if the parents have two different eye or hair colors, their child will have either one, but they will still carry the gene for the other color, and that color might pop up in the next generation, or even several generations later. Anyway, you can change a toddler's appearance if you have Open for Business by making an adult or teen hold the toddler and bring them to a mirror. In the pie menu there'll be the option to change the toddler's appearance. However, this is only the equivalent of dyeing the toddler's hair; its children will still have the toddler's original hair color or the other parent's color.
I merged your two threads/posts as only one thread should be posted. Please do not double post in the future. I second 123's advice about using the mirror if you have open for business. And to clarify; if you change a toddler's hair to blonde then when they become a child they will still have blonde hair. However their genetics will read different and when they have a baby that baby might end up with the black hair. Your other option is to save right before the mother goes into labor. If the baby has black hair when it's born then exit without saving from that house. Go back into the house again and again until you get a baby with blonde hair. I've done this before for gender selection and noticed that the hair color will change as well. That way the genetics of the baby says that it has blonde hair. Note...it still has black hair coded into it's DNA so there is still a chance that the sim will produce black haired babies.
If you aren't so worried about doing it right as your toddler becomes a child, then just go up to the mirror and select change apearance. That works in every game.
