Monitoring my gameplay Hello everybody, is there any mod or cheat that records what I'm clicking on durign my game session? I mean something that could allow me to monitor how do I play exactly? I want to do some statistical analysis about how people exactly play this game, i believe it could be useful for clinical purposes (example: psychological diagnostics). Thanx to everybody.
I'm not aware of any currently (but I'm not up on all the new mods.) There are people who are using the game clinically (for anger management, language disorder treatment, socializing higher functioning autism spectrum patients and play therapy). (I spoke at an educational conference in 2005 on this subject.) However, none of them were looking at statistics, only outcome or observation of the patient during play. Some people in the community (not on this forum for the most part) who might be able to assist you in this are JMPescado (of the MoreAwesomeThanYou forum) and the modders at MTS2. I don't know if Maxis uses anything within the game (such as doing testing) but you could write to EA (by real mail on official letterhead) to find out. I'm not sure which department, but Public Relations might be a starting place as they've been known to forward letters to appropriate departments and they are the official liaison with the public. (I suggest real mail on official letter head, at one's most profession so that it's more likely to get read than if it's email or handwritten. They get a lot of "pretenders" asking for information.) Hopefully this gets you a little further than you were before. Sorry I couldn't give you a short answer.
To KatAnubis: Thank you for your response. Ive just tried to register on JMPescado forum but it seems they have some technical problems. Its impossible to register. Ill definitely try to write to EA. I will post here if I reach something about it.
Even if you can't register, as long as the website is up you can look through all the mods, do site searches and the like without registering. I'm not registered either, as someone hijacked my account there and got it banned. (Either that or it was payback for banning someone over on the TS2 site, although I wasn't involved in banning JMP, although I did tell him that I didn't like the snarky attitudes at his place.) You can download anything you need without being a registered member. You just can't post.
Make sure that you know that MATY is a free site ... the subscription pages are pure bunkum. And yes, Kat is perfectly correct in that registration is not needed to read or to download stuff. Pescado is pathologically opposed to paysites and I have great sympathy with that
