    Crashing Issues

Using a torrent downloaded version of Sims 2, with no expansions (my dog ate my discs). It installs just fine using Daemon Tools. When I start the game it seems to run fine, but the game has about an 80% chance to crash my computer into a full reboot any time I save, load, or move between a lot and the neighborhood. There is no blue screen of death, or any symptoms/warnings previous to a crash. Normally I'd assume I have a corrupted file or something, but I've seen this issue on a lot of different sites, so I'm hoping someone has a fix to it. I KNOW my computer will more than run the game.

    System Specs:
    CPU: Intel P4 3.2 Ghz w/ HT
Memory: 2 GB DDR2 Corsair RAM
    OS: Windows XP Home Edition
Disk Space: 250GB Free 320GB Total
    Directx Version: 9.0c
Video Card: ATI X1900 512GB (current driver)

Unfortunately that is an illegal download...even if you did own the disks first. Worldsims won't support that kind of activity nor help with fixing any problems with illegal downloaded games. Our only suggestion will be to buy the disks again. You can write to EA to get replacement disks as a cheaper option; but you do need the actual disks to play the game. I am now locking this thread.
