Sorry to hear that, Stella. I'm afraid you will have to send it back to Amazon and ask for a replacement.

If by Amazon, you mean that you bought the game from a reseller through Amazon then you still need to refer to Amazon's complaints process. I can't give a direct link for that because I don't know which branch of Amazon you used (you appear to be based on the European mainland at first glance  ) urrrr

.... on second glance I see you're in the UK ;) (I'm not very good at this  ) I don't really know why you'd want to buy FFS 2nd hand, if you did then you will have fun getting a refund ... shouldn't be impossible just not easy. How much did you pay? The lowest cost I could find at amazon was 3.49 + 3.94 shipping ... frankly it's easy to pay 9.99 at a handy Asda, Tesco, Game, or Virgin Megastore ... you out in the sticks, kid? No malls nearby?

Serial numbers are precious and MUST NOT be shared (or LOST - look after them like gold ;) ). If you buy a game and the number is missing return it to the vendor and demand a refund or replacement. Don't buy anything unless you trust the vendor to sell you something that is not suitable for the purpose.

Thread closed to stop further discussion ... forget that ... :p I just reopened it seeing as how I am having a dialogue with myself .... ;)

Contact Maxis customer support. If you can prove that you legally have the game, they will (for a small charge) give you a new serial code.

But as Mirelly pointed out, it's not appropriate to get it from another Simmer. That's considered software piracy.
