Popup-only Advertising As we are configured now, you have the choice of two advertising options. One contains skyscraper banners and a popup on every 4th page. The other contains a standard banner and a popup on every 4th page. If SimGames.net were to add an advertising option that offered no banners and a popup every 2 or 3 pages, would you use it? Popups are superior because it doesn't affect the site design. How many of us have struggled over where to put an ad banner? I have, more than once!
I think it would ne good to get rid of the ugly banners, but i don't know if i like pop ups every 2-3 clicks... but the option is very good idea
I've voted against the idea of having popups only. I think its best for the SimGames network owners and the member sites of it if things remain how they are, simply because popups do annoy the f*** out of people. Also, more and more people are becoming popup wise now and getting hold of popup blocker programs however they can, so moving to popups only would result in less banner income for the network owners, and drive more people to stop returning to the publishers sites, in my opinion. 8)
I will discuss this with Karl next I see him to see how we can go about implementing this change. Keep in mind this is not a guarantee that we'll offer this new ad option. I'm just gauging interest here.
