Script Request I'm just collecting requests for scripts to be added to the SimGames.net Script Installation service (http://simgames.net/install). So if you tell me of your favroute scripts that are appropriate for gaming / game websites just tell me what they are either by posting a reply to this topic or E-Mailing me (callan@simgames.net). Thanks!
Sorry i'm a little slow  You will install them on our site like a running invision power board? Also could you tell us what each one is and what they do?
Mmmm Yeah I just get your FTP details and DB details and I install the script, then I notify the user who wanted it via E-Mail with details on how they can login to the admin section, all of our scripts have an admin section! PHP-Nuke 6.9 is a content management system, phpnuke.org is it's homepage. Coppermine Photo Gallery is an image gallery system, coppermine.sf.net is it's homepage. EJ3 TOPo a topsite listing system, was very popular, but is now near extinction. Invision Board 1.3 Brilliant forum system much better than most forum systems plus it's free, invisionboard.com is it's homepage. NGC Mailing List Manager Rather self-explanitory isn't it? PHP Guest Book 1.5 What can I say, it's a guestbook! xLinks 1.0 Linking system just like any other link system it stores links, but this one has some extra good features!
You need to have a database set up to hold data for the scripts. Sites without control panels can request such features by emailing support@simgames.net. See the FAQ for how to create a new database: http://simgames.net/help.shtml#db-01
I got a couple of suggestions: -A better chat script. (These can be so hard to find and i have had no luck with the digichat thing). -Invision Power Board along with PHPBB. IPB is just as good and i get alot of requests to install it for my hostees.
well, PHPBB is already avalible for instant insall via H-Sphere And please dont forget a good chat script costs upwards of $1,000, DigiChat alone is around the $1,000 mark
Chat scripts bog down the server to hell if more then 10 people use them. If you want to chat with members make a IRC channel on a server that is made them for them. Like sorcery.net I would also like to point out that PHPnuke is a big security hole its self. Plus its a resource hog.
Script Request Looking for scripts then. How about a news ticker? Keep visitors updated with the lateset news. You could edit it using the control panel, meaning no need to keep uploading your site everytime you need to update it. I don't know where to get one, but I have one as a DHTML script in an HTML editor I have. You could create one! p.s I have two questions. 1)What is the phpnuke content manager thing (or whatever it's called). 2)If invisionboard is the best forum, why are using phpBB2? (I use phpBB2 by the way, invisionboard looks strange)
Re: Script Request I personally like phpBB better. Also, it's what comes with H-Sphere, so that's what's easiest to install.
i like invision, cuz in my opinion it is more powerful. i has requested it installed, but i didnt have time to wait for a script installer, so i did it. Im not trying to bash the installers, im sure they have their hands full.
what ever happened to callan, i asked for a php-nuke to be installed nearly 2 months ago and nothing has happend. Soo whats going on?
I'm waiting for a script as well. php nuke I think. Might as well do it your self. (I'm not, too busy).
