    Red Blinking Walls

After I intalled Family Fun stuff the walls in the game, and the pools blinked red. I also installed Seasons, and the same with that game too.
I have a Compaq computer, WINDOWS XP, 2002. 192mb RAM memory, 55.6 gb of memory left I used to have 69.2 gb. I don't know what to do, I uninstalled Family Fun Stuff, and Seasons and now everything is back to normal with the regular The Sims 2. Please help me!

After installing an expansion the game automatically disbaled Custom Content and this will blink red or blue in the game until you replace the blinking stuff with Maxis stuff in build or buy mode or until you go into the Option Menu and select the option to Enable Custom Content. If you do that you must then exit the game and restart it for the change to take effect.

Family Fun Stuff was very badly bugged. Make sure you download the patch for it from the official website thesims.ea.com

The most common reason for red blinking walls is not having an adequate graphics card or not having the right drivers for the graphics card.

Since you say that you have 192mb of RAM, that means that you have an onboard graphics card, probably one of the Intel ones. They are just not capable of handling the more video intensive EPs.

If you look at the Seasons list of required minimum specs it says "CPU 1.3 ghz or greater, 256mb of RAM or 512mb if you are running more than just the basegame, video card with a T&L capable chipset so that it is Radeon 8500 or greater or NVidea2 GTS or greater."

I strongly suspect, based on the fact that you have a 5 year old "Compaq", have listed a way underspec RAM and that RAM indicates that you have an onboard video card which would *not* be T&L enabled, that your computer is not capable of properly running Seasons (or more than one EP.)

Most people tend to downplay The Sims as not needing much of a computer. However, TS2 is leading edge in terms of graphics so it is as video-intensive as games like GTA, Halflife and other first person shooter games.

That's why Maxis decided to make "Life Stories." It's meant for people who don't have gaming computers, but are using older computers, laptops and newer computers meant to be for business or educational purposes.

If you were using TS2 basegame, you might get away with some of the earlier, less graphics intensive EPs or stuff packs, but definitely stay away from ones like Pets or Seasons until you have a better computer. I'm just sorry that we can't make it work for you.
