Do I need patches for Complete Reinstall? Hi All - Okay - I've had my first crisis since the Sims 2 originally came out and now have to do a complete reinstall of all my games. I have a back-up copy of the game files and such from March 10th, so it's not earth-shattering. MY QUESTION: I installed each ep as it came out AND then I installed each patch as it came out over the past 3 years. If I'm now installing ALL (game, EP, Stuff Packs) do I need to re-install each of the patches too or were those problems solved by the next ep?? Here's what I originally installed (in order) along the way: 1) The Sims 2 and then the Maxis patch for The Sims 2 2) University and then the Maxis patch for Uni 3) Nighlife and then the Maxis patch for NL 4) Holiday stuff pack - no patch released 5) Open For Business and then the Maxis patch for OFB 6) Family Fun Stuff pack and then the Maxis patch for FFS 7) Pets and then the Maxis patch for Pets 8) Glamour Life Stuff Pack - no patch released 9) Seasons - no patch available yet I know I can install the EP's and SP's in any order, but do I need the patches at all? If so, do I need all of them and in any particular order? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!
I would first suggest installing each in the order they were released. Some, not all, have had problems with installing out of order. 2nd, no, you don't need to do the patch after each one. The next CD should update the game for you... With the exception of Pets...surprised_by_witches had problems with Seasons not updating her game so I would suggest downloading the patch for Pets before installing Seasons.
