    Please Help! Missing Files!

I've been to 3 other forums asking for help with this one, as well as EA's tech support (I never got a response from them at all and that was over 2 weeks ago). No one knows why this is happening or how to help me so I am hoping that someone here can help me.

I have a new computer that goes above and beyond being able to run The Sims 2. I have all of the EPs and SPs. I have no CC other than the chicken suit I got with OFB and the CC made by Maxis available on their website. When in boolProp and using the alien, zombie and mannequin skin, the heads that go with them are missing, as well as the werewolf full face paint. These are the file numbers:

    0x0c560f39-0x4f184229-0x71c77514

    0x6c4f359d-0x4f184229-0xb1720b1f

    0x2c1fd821-0x2c176742-0x11c77514

Someone told me that the Pets EP caused this and to try the Pets patch, which I was reluctant to do since I had the Seasons EP. I did it and it didn't work. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't fix the problem. These files are not in my game when I search for them. They have to be on the discs but which ones and where would I find them? I should be able to copy and paste them back into my game right?

A lot of people keep saying that the heads and face paint are CC but they are not. They are actually in the game. Since I use these frequently it is really frustrating that they are missing!

Can someone PLEASE help me out with this!? I'd really appreciate it!!!

Ooh this is a tricky one, Carlynn.

The first question is is this an issue that arises from you making your own non-human sims in debug mode (boolProp)? Or do the "normal", in-game, aliens, zombies and mannekin appear with wrong head texture ... (or none at all)?

I have extremely limited experience of creating sims in CAS-debug mode so I am not utterely sure what is and isn't available (I have made an alien but that's about it).

I am curious as to where you got the file names from. Please tell. I would have thought that whoever had that information to give you would know where to find them again ....

The files would be packaged within the various packages on the various discs. The only way you're going to get them out, assuming you have the correct file names, is to open up the various packages with an editor such as SimPE or datGen.

Let me know where you got those file names from.

ou may also wish to consider trying your luck at MATY

    Thanks for answering!

Yes, I did make my own non-human sims in de-bug mode! And the heads WERE there then gone. I got the file numbers first of all from my daughter's PC (they were still in hers until we had to reformat it due to my son messing around and screwing it up beyond repair). Then when I got my new PC and they were missing from mine and I posted about them being gone at another forum, a friend looked them up in her game and posted them for me.

So if I get datgen or SimPe, I have to, I assume, put in the original disc, University and Pets to find the files? Where is the mannequin head? UGH!

Your info was very helpful! Many thanks! Now I wish I knew why in the world this happened!

No problem. Let us know how this pans out.

SimPE is here it also needs the Microsoft .NET framework installed before it can run and there is, as yet, no version support for Seasons ... but it will open all .package files and display/extract what's inside.

    Thank you!

I'll give it a shot. Hopefully it is easy to use because I am not that bright when it comes to things like this!:) I'll let you know what happens later tonight or tomorrow though!

    Ok...Help Again!

I have Sim PE and I tried to use it but I have no idea where on the discs to find the files. I have put in all 4 of the discs from The Sims 2 and can't find anything! Where do I look?

Big zip file on each disc called compressed.zip

Inside it are folders for CSbin, TSBin, & TSData

CSBin is generally Body Shop stuff so that might tbe place to start ;) I can't see any packages in my Seasons disc CSBin but there may be on the other discs.

If you come up with nothing there then your need to dig around in TSData where there are lots of packages to explore ... basically you are on your own. ;)

    Ok!

Thanks again Mirelly! At least I know where to start! It might take me awhile but I am a patient person!:D I think I need to start with the original disc for the alien head and University for the zombie head. I am assuming that the mannequin head came from OFB. I know the werewolf full face paint came from Pets. Oh boy. This is going to take awhile. I'll let you know what happens!

    On Hold!

My search is on hold! Because of AOL I had to reformat my computer (thank you Dell Tech Support - you guys are AWESOME!). I am just now getting everything back to normal. Hopefully once I get my Sims back in there my heads will be back. If not, the search is back on! I'll still keep you posted!

    Still No Luck!

Still no luck! All I was able to do was install an old neighborhood of mine and they still have their heads (I mean the families I created at an earlier date), but they are still not showing up in CAS under step #2.

I do however have my werewolf full face paint.
