Elizabeth Warren on the Credit Card Industry

I was listening to this and it was scary what's the credit card company is doing.

LOL We have similar practices here as well, Josh. The banks, credit companies, all sorts of moeny lenders are up to all sorts of malarkey. Recently a campaign by a BBC TV program, has helped force a number of banks to refund usurous charges for unauthoroised overdrafts.

Yep they have but they can then close your account and force you to have to go to another bank.

I got charged 39 for going over by 1.22 - our mortgage payment went up and I forgot to cover it (and the building society also charged me 20 for having the direct debit refused, which I got revoked after I pointed out my otherwise excellent record and blah blah)- if I challenge it, I could effectively wipe out my previously good record with that bank from the last 22 years, as they would just pay me back the 39, then close my account.

According to google, UK 39 = 76.5024 U.S. dollars
and you can bet your behind I wouldn't let them get away with that
Every bank would gladly take customers with a clean record of 22 years
Alone the fact that they would try to charge me like that, smells if not like fraud, surely like a common ripp off and would ultimately make me take my business, where it's apprecheated.
(We still have more banks than churches in my town :D :D :D
