Cant use build mode! it will show me the options but when i click on them nothing happens. the cursor doesnt change either - it just stays an arrow unlike in the buy mode. i have no idea what could be going on - ive never had this problem before. everything else seems to be working. any help would be great!!
Build mode is only available if you have the game disc in the CD drive (and you are not running a virtual drive.)
i dont know if im in virtual mode or not (im used to the regular sims so maybe this is something new?). we had the disc in though. i borrowed the game twice from the library (2 different copies). the first one said there was an error copying a file from disc 2 and wouldnt go any further. the other one installed correctly but when i tried to open it would give me an error message. my brother downloaded a patch or something he thought would fix it and it did but not for the build mode. after reading related threads it seems like the "downloading" is probably what is keepin build mode from working. but without the download the game wouldnt even open! and i know its not our computer cause its brand new. ive completely uninstalled the game and am going to try reinstalling it. if it wont open again or says there is an error copying a file what should i do? or should i just break down and buy the game instead of using the one from the library? p.s before this we had the sims with every single expansion pack installed so its not like we dont have enough memory, or have never had to install a game with multiple discs before, etc. just fyi
