overachiever Just what does it take to fulfill an aspiration to have one of your children be an overachiever? Nothing seems to work. A+ grades, lots of skills, lots of friends, and platinum aspiration for the kid, and still the want never rolls over and is never fulfilled. This seems almost like abuse - what does she expect this kid to do?? Already he's practicing piano and studying mechanics when he's not doing his own (and his brother's) homework!
I have also found that to be difficult to fufill. I wonder if there isn't a bug in this like in other things that are Maxis related. Seems like even when I meet the criteria, it doesn't register. However, from what I understand, all a teen needs to be an overachiever is 1) to do to all his homework and be an A+ student, and 2) to get an after-school job and make it to the top of that track (usually three promotions or so). I don't think skills or friends make much difference (unless needed for job promotions or whatever), nor does doing other people's homework, so don't bust yourself out on those. But do make sure they go to school/work in a good mood, needs fufilled, etc. It helps. If anyone has anything to add/correct, please post!
No, you've got it right. They also need to be in private school. But sometimes it doesn't take. I had a sim achieve all of the above and the game didn't give her credit; I had another one who didn't, and it did. So I'm convinced it's buggy.
Oh, man, I hate that private school thing. What a lot of work. I only wanted it because it was a big deal aspiration and I needed to get mom into the gold so she get drink a bunch of life elixir. I finally got there with a few friends and a fish or two! So heck with over-achieving. Life's too short, right?
If you have the nightlife re-programmer just go for the grilled cheese aspiration (which you get from using the re-programmer when not in gold+). Grilled cheese sims can get into platinum mood dead easy, cos all their wants are related to grilled cheese, after a few hours you can always change them back again. Caution they might need a lot of working out afterwards ... all that cheese ain't good for the waistline ... Just a thought that doesn't involve cheats.
... And if you want to get mum into the gold the naughty way you can always use the AspirationLevel 0-5 (5 is in the white, 0 in the red, etc.) :winks:
I don't know if this is a bug, but in my game, the teen has to have an A+ when they get promoted to the top of the teen career track. If they're at the top and their grades have dropped, and then they get them back up, my game doesn't recognize them as overachievers.
Just to add one thing. Actually you can be in public school and get overachiever. You have to get a+ for 2 or more days and get to the top of their teen career (4 promotions) and have a okay relationship with their parents if the teen hates them it wont work 1 because they propbaly wont have the want 2 because the teen wont go up to them and Jump for Joy.Just thought i would put that up my first family i ever made (2 years ago) wasnt even in private school didnt know that you could be an overachiever and guess what the want rolled and i looked up the memory and asked my friend about it(also a sims2 addict) and from then on i have gotten tons and I only have sent one family ever to private school (I wanted the money). But if no one has noticed this when a teen or child maxes out a want or their aspiration meter than the parents get aspiration points.Anna Maria
Also private school is not needed. Just a current A+ and a top job. Don't forget to apply for the Young Entrepreneur grant before going to uni
