Problem with Installation ok iam trying to install sim city 4 deluxe edition but wene it gets to the half way point it says please put disk 2 in so i do but nothing happens and all it does is a big hour glass. i have all other programs off including my Norton security plz help me i love the sims
OK First off let's see if that disc 2 is faulty. With disc 2 in the CD drive open My Computer and then look for the CD drive with the disc 2. Right click that drive and choose "Explore" If you cannot open all the folders on the disc and see a list of the contents then it's fair to assume the disc has some damage (or the drive is faulty ... though it reads other discs ok so we'll not jumpt to conclusions) If you suspect the disc is at fault ... examine it carefully for dirt/scratches. With great care try to clean off any dirty marks. Light scratches can be removed with toothpaste: (honest! see: Google repair scratched cd) If you can read all the contents of the disc then perhaps you might have to install the game from a copy of the CD, in which case you will need to make copies of both discs and start over with the installation.
