Neighborhoods disappeared! (long-winded problem description) Hi guys, new to the forums, long time sims fan I used the sims yesterday (all expansions thru Pets have been installed since like December) and then last night (a mere 10 hours later, after a good 4 hours of playing... ) i opened up the game again, and there were no neighborhoods, only the create-your-own option (don't know if it works, didn't try it) and the tutorials (which worked). I searched for all of my neighborhood data in a panics, and, luckily it was all there, where it always is, in my TS2 folder, in the right places. I made a backup of my whole TS2 folder (you never know) and I installed the sims 2 pets patch for mac. I restarted my computer, but alas, the same problem. I'm on a MacBookPro with excellent graphics capabilities (duh, its a MBP) but which is low on memory (only about 2 gig left... but that shouldn't be a problem since ram is not a problem). So. Does anyone know why my sims suddenly refused to acknowledge my neighborhood data, or, more importantly, *HOW I CAN GET IT TO WORK AGAIN??* (preferrably without reinstalling the whole game-- I don't have all of my expansion CD's anymore!!) Thanks in advance, Javeson1
okay never mind, I got it to work again, as far as I can tell.... at least my neighborhoods are back. After trying everything I could scrounge up on google I tried taking out the sims 2 library prefs from my home folder, but that didn't work. So I switched out my Sims 2 folder (the entire TS2 folder in Documents) with the backup one I had made, and now it seems to be working!
$h!7. LIES. It still doesn't work. I am so afraid that the .packages for all of my babies (about 5 generations worth of people & pets) is corrupted and gone for good!! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!
Javeson, if this is a Mac version of the game, maybe you should try asking your question in the Mac forum. Sorry that I can't help.
