Mary from Maine I am new to the site.. Thanks for the invite!! My children got me "hooked" on the Sims and am very grateful to them. I am having a great time.. I did download the Sims2, the Sims University and also the Sims Nightlife. I did also download the Quads, twins and triplet hack and have a lot of children, however when I downloaded the "mailbox hack" it seems to be stuck as everthing I have tried after reading through the forum doesn't seem to work. Wondering if there is a problem with the site or its just my inexperience. Does anyone know about this??? Mary
I'd delete the hack and see if the game runs OK. I find the more EPs I have the less I trust hacks. I used to play with a lot of them, but I've gotten rid of most. The problem is that hacks have to keep up with all the expansions. Also, if you don't have as many expansions as the hacker there can be an incompatibility issue as well. You don't need a mailbox hack to play the game. Just play it without. I promise you'll still have fun.

By downloading, do you mean you illegally got them off the internet? Because (I'll be the computer geek for a minute) technically, if you get software, it's called "installing" or possibly "uploading" it to the computer. If it's coming off the internet, it's called downloading. So I really hope you just have your terms wrong.
Just interesting to note that Mary thinks the best way to get help with Mod The Sims 2 is to ask for help at World Sims. Her question was posted at 1.44am GMT+1 which is a typical time when web servers run basic disc housekeeping guff, such as defrags, back ups etc. I think that Delphy's servers are in Ireland, though that's just a guess, I'm neither geeeky enough nor interested enough to want to find out for myself. Oh, and by the way, I think she is definitely using pirated copies of the game ... possibly supplied to her by her "children" ... maybe Mary has hacked her real life mailbox (crossed out Mary from Maine and crayoned in Judy from Vermont ) to keep Maine's child protection services from coming out to take them away for remedial education and a good hot meal. There you are, Mary. A possible libel. I shall be happy to retract if you want to come back and play nicely ... as long as you can affirm legal ownership of the game, that is.
LOL Lynet, I do actually feel I was a bit mean on Mary, but honestly! there were so many different things wrong with her initial case (piracy suspicion, poor grammar, multiple post, dubious identity ... a mother? come on!) it was a tough job to choose just one to pick at. I was foaming at the mouth when she complained that my initial response was rambling and unintelligible. I got out my sharpest poking stick and ... well ... poked until I was all poked out.
I believe everything you say about her. What's worse is that I believed her when she said she was a mother. I hope she isn't, but, unfortunately, there are plenty of real life kids with bad parents. :( By the way, I am always greatly entertained by your responses, especially when someone has made you angry. I have never found them unintelligible. Er...it's why I'm so well behaved around here. Don't want your stick poking in my direction.
