I start the game as usual, but when I click to build anything, although the choice of building is highlighted, nothing happens...any ideas anyone???

First of all, charris, please don't double post. Someone will see your one post, trust me. With that said, here are some questions. Was your game fine before or has it always been like this? Have you got any strange hacks or downloads that might be causing the problem? Did you download your game? To me this sounds like it's a bug, but I'm not sure. It all depends on if you downloaded it (illegaly), really. If you haven't then I'm really sorry for thinking that you might have.
I Haven't actually...It's been Ok when I firdt took it in my hands...that was in about two years ago when first came out...As far as i remember it was ok...I'm almost sure about it... Question though...Is there any difference between original and fake cd?cause I don't think so! Anyways any ideas?
Hi charris. Is your copy of Sims 2 a legal copy or an illegal download? EA has disabled the build mode for anyone who tries to run the game without a legal cd in the cd drive. EDIT: I have merged your two threads together into this one. Please only post one thread with your problem in the future.
Or, to expand on what Hugz says, are you using the CD to start the game, and then removing it from the drive? -John
