No jobs... finally i was able to play SC4 deluxe.... I just started. i have a population of 10,000, but i have a big problem, many of my apartments and houses have "no job", and i dont know what to do... Any help? Give them jobs? Add an industrial zone away from the residential zone and add commercial zoning in between.
People will only travel a certain number of 'tiles' to get to their jobs. That number varies depending on their method of transport - road, rail, subway, bus etc. Place bus stops at various locations, and make sure that the industry/commercial zones are not too far away. What type of density have you used for each type of zone? Make sure to include medium density industrial and light commercial to begin with. Check the RCI indicator to check the demand for each type of zone. Don't expand too quickly. If some residential zones are not developing or are becoming derelict, place a 2x2 area of light industrial or light commercial close by. As you're new to the game, it would be useful if you could post a couple of screenshots to show your city layout, so we can see if anything immediate springs to mind, and we can take it from there.
