Uninstall/install problems... =[ Help!? Okay. Long story, but... I have the base game and I just recently got Pets... I installed it and I realized that I had the graphic driver problem in a different spot than it was when I was just using the basegame -- in the base, it was just the lake/pond option that turned out red, but in Pets, it was the walls -- so I decided that it wasn't worth it, so I uninstalled Pets. I know I didn't uninstall anything vital to the basegame; I was extra careful and I looked up how to remove JUST the expansion, and I did exactly as it said. Well, then the directory where the Downloads, Neighborhood, Music, etc folders were was gone. I figured that once I got back into the game and saved something, the directory would recreate itself. So I went into the game, but when I got to the Neighborhoods screen, there were only Pleasantview (and the preview was just a bumpy landscape with squares, and when I clicked on the neighborhood story, it told me to enter one) and the make your own neighborhood option. I exed out of it, figuring I uninstalled something I shouldn't have, and decided it would be easier to just uninstall the entire game and reinstall it. But now my uninstall option in the Sims 2 file isn't working. I click it, and it does nothing, no matter how I try to open it. I can't use Add/Remove programs because Yahoo! Messenger effed it up, so... Yeah. Can ANYONE tell me what's going on and what I can do?? Sorry this was so long... Please, help me. =[ I love my Simmies...
LOL Use the manual uninstall - described in the FAQs Also, please see the search results for flashing walls (the fifth one in the list is the most informative ... )
lol Thanks! I already read all of the stuff about the walls, I tried downloading an update, but I couldn't figure out which one it was, my card is this weird one I've never heard of anywhere else... So I just gave up after I posted a question about it and no one replied. Thanks for the manual uninstall link, though. I appreciate it, sorry for the trouble. =]
