Expansion packs I was wondering whether or not expansion packs for Sims2 can be installed in any order? I'm particularly interested in University, OFB and Nightlife but I'm not sure whether you need to install them in the correct order like in the original Sims. Thanks.
Hi bAteseh. The expansion packs for the Sims 2 were designed so that they can be installed in any order, technically, unlike those for Sims 1. HOWEVER, the official recommendation from Maxis/EA is that to reduce the risk of problems, install them in the order of release: University, Nightlife, OFB, Pets, Seasons. Personally, I prefer to install in the order of release anyway. If you install them out of order, let us know how it went - in theory you should be able to do it, but most people here install them in order of release.
Thanks for your hasty response. As I said in my previous post, I am looking to get OFB and Nightlife so I will be installing them in order of release, thanks for your post anyway mate.
If I may add a question, what about those smaller expansion sets like celebration stuff or the fashion stuff?
What if you get the Deluxe edition? Can you put University on that? It's out of order, but isn't it still a base pack?
I bought deluxe first, and then all the others in random order after that. The order I installed them in is: Deluxe (includes NL), Uni, Seasons, Pets, OFB, and it all worked out fine!
