New no directx thread Ok well I was looking at the other thread and noticed it was dead so I decided to make a new thread. I'm new here mainly because of this problem to be honest. I was just on my sims 2 yesterday and I come to turn my computer on to play some and a message pops up saying I don't have any directx 9 graphics adapters. Any help with this problem? I was just on so I'm sure that my drivers are fine and I tried to download directx over and over with no luck.
Firstly, thankyou for not reviving a dead thread! Secondly, clicky here and tell us your system specs.
Sorry here is my info. I didn't know how elaborate I should be with it but here is what I found according to your link. Thanks so much! Reinstalling your graphic card's drivers should fix the problem. Hopefully you know what graphics card you have, otherwise open up the case and look on the outside of the graphics card.
Wow I am so computer illiterate. I don't want to break my laptop doing it though. Should I just look at the handbook or the computer box?
If it's a laptop, don't go opening it. Have a look in the handbook or the box and see if it tells you there.
Well I took out the recovery disc (I couldn't find anything listing what the driver is) and installed the graphic drivers I saw. Now I installed sims 2 again and now it says that one of the files are corrupt...this is getting soooo aggrevating.
Check that your cd or dvd disk is clean. Wipe it with a soft cloth. Also do you know what brand your laptop is?
Well I totally restored my computer (it's a toshiba to answer your question) since it was acting funky anyways. I just finished installing all of my sims games again and it's working fine now. Thanks everyone!
