First, the easy stuff: were the walls that were flashing blue covered by a custom, downloaded wallpaper or covering? If yes, try using another wall covering. If no, proceed.

I believe, if I'm not mistaken, that the system requirements were ramped up a bit for Pets. :(

Would you be able to post your system specs? Go to Start>Run>type "dxdiag" (without quotes). Tell us the information you get. Oh--and make sure to check the "display" tab and let us know you graphics card, etc.

Sorry to hear of your problems with the game. Hope we can get it sorted out soon! :)

*ahem* If I'm not mistaken, John, megster was saying that the walls were flashing red and not blue. :)

Umm, try having a look at the Pets patch on EAs site. Maybe it has something about flashing walls on there. I know that Family Fun Stuff causes walls to flash sometimes (which can be solved by the patch) and I've heard of Pets doing the same - but I don't know if the patch solves that. Have a look anyway though.
You might also find something helpful if you search the forums a bit (we've had tons of flashing red wall threads in the past).

If you can't find anything and the patches don't suit your needs, do what John suggested.

    Hope this helped. :classic:
