Baby Problems....Please help I have a family of sims and the mother is only able to have male children who are exact clones of each other...all of them have the same distorted features...can someone please help me?
Happens all the time. What I've heard is that you need to go into the Create a Sim (or Create a Family as I think they call it now) and pretend you are going to create a new sim. Then you click on the dice a few times, getting a variety of sims at random. Then exit. Sounds odd, but my understanding is that it gets the program to do a better job of randomizing your baby. You might try using the search function in this forum to see if it's discussed in other threads. Hope this helps. Here's what I do because it happens to me ALL the time: Save when the Mom is "big" with baby (third bloop). Have baby. Do NOT save until kid is a toddler and you can see if it's a clone. If it is quit without saving and have the baby again. OR If your family has clones a lot, reject the first couple of babies, play baby #2 or #3 to toddler, check stats before saving baby. It's a pain but I hate raising the same kid twice. This is my hack-free solution. I don't find Pescado's hacks to be reliable anymore. I don't think he keeps up with the expansions. Bathroom Uses You hosed my game after I installed Pets, for example.
Actually, the link isn't for a hack. It's just Pescado explaining about why the game tends to duplicate the same baby over and over, and how to avoid it by randomizing sims in the CAS screen. It also happens to be the ancient thread that someone resurrected, presumably because I referenced it here. Oopsy daisy.
