Help! Sorry but don't really know if I'm doing right here or not so please forgive me if don't know but need help really really bad and fast for my sims 2 pets. It didn't start acting up today til had downloaded something for my webcam but I deleted what did downloaded thinking sims would work again butttttttttttttttttttttttt. The enabled and disabled box doesn't come on sims game now and when go to houses it crashes. How can I get this fixed without having to redownload as truly do not want to have to do this again. I have had to do this several times before and it is so frustrating as lost everything and it takes me a very long time to get everything way was before. If you need to get in touch with me on this please e-mail me at <removed>. Need help bad and fast
Hi toughsister. I know you're desperate to receive some help with your problem but please don't post any more threads about the same issue - as soon as someone sees this thread who can answer it, they will. I'm not the most technical of simmers (rofl) but I know there are others here who are. First of all, can you clarify what you mean by 'redownloading' the game - do you mean downloading from the internet or installing it from a disk? Next, whatever it was that you downloaded for your webcam, was it something that needed to be removed with add/remove programs? Simply deleting it may not have completely removed it from your computer. We need some more information about your computer specs and the item you downloaded for the webcam (though not sure how this has caused your game to be problematic). Check out that link and the posts within that thread, then post your information in this thread for us to see. Hopefully then, we can help you.
Just read your message and trying to get back with you.You had asked me about what had downloaded for th webcam. I seen something that had CPL so downloaded it as was hoping to make taking pictures better but didn't and was planning to delete it anyway but as said about sims pets when went to play sims game started acting up so don't know what can be wrong. as for downloading sims I have a disk for it but every time have to redownload which do cuz think this would straighten it up but really hate doing that. I'm trying to give you more information about sims though so hopefully this will help you with what is causin sims to act up here. Til hear from someone will close. Thanks for getting back with me.
Ok, I have some more questions: 1. Have you downloaded or installed any custom content items for your game? - clothing, houses, makeup etc.? 2. Did you scan your downloaded webcam item (and any custom content for sims 2) for viruses/trojans/spyware before installing it? 3. You said your game crashes when you enter houses - does it happen with certain houses in particular or is it any house/lot? 4. How many families do you have in your neighbourhood? Sometimes neighbourhoods can have problems when the number of sims is too high. 5. Which expansion packs do you have installed? 6. What are your system specifications? The cause of game crashes can often be pinpointed when we know your system specs. Please copy/paste and add your information to the list from this post. (Click on the blue text in the previous sentence, post your reply here in this thread.) Until we know a lot more about your system and your game, we can't help. If you can answer all my questions above, we can try to resolve the problem. As I said earlier, there are other members and moderators here who are more technical and can help you, but we need all that information first. There will probably be more questions too, but for now, it's important to see your answers to the above questions.
You may want to try uninstalling, then reinstalling the game, after making sure the webcam is completely gone.
Got my sims fixed myself Just wanted you to know I got my sims 2 pets working myselfand hopes stays that way too. Hopefully won't have to have any help now.
Oh good. But you could have posted this in the first thread that you started. The people that tried to help you are more likely to see your post there. :sigh: Edit: And in case your Sims 2 Pets starts working up again (*ahem* doing weird things) then please don't make a new thread telling us about it. Post a reply in the first thread that you made (well, the one that lots of people have replied to anyway) and tell us all about it there. Thank you.
Very glad for you Toughsister. Be sure to visit Worldsims and share the fun stuff that happens in the game. We do a lot of that around here, too.
toughsister: I merged your two threads together so people can follow along and I also moved the entire thing to the troubleshooting and problems forum as it's better suited there.
