Has anyone experienced the TS2 base game uninstalling itself? Hi all, I have been playing TS2 base game for two months now and within that time it has randomly decided to uninstall itself from my laptop about four times. I will be happily playing along for a couple of weeks, then BAM, the next time I put the CD into my driver it opens to the install game screen. It will delete the shortcuts from my desktop and menu but it leaves the files behind. I, also, have never been able to get the Body Shop to open. An error message appears (which I can't recall right now) and I have disabled all firewalls and updated drivers, patches, etc. to no avail. I know the game works on my computer as when it is installed, it works fine. Has anyone else experienced these issues? Thanks for any input you can give me!

Well running the game on a laptop is not recommended, though you do appear to have a fairly good laptop there. My gut feeling is that that this a Windows thing. Are you able to say if the game has actually been uninstalled or just "lost". For example when the install screen appears, have you check to see if the game appears in the add/remove programs list in Control Panel? That could be significant ... either way.
The game does not appear in my add/ remove panel. It only leaves the files behind, which I can at least copy and save. What do you think Windows is doing? Do you think downloaded content could be a culprit. I share the game with my sister and she has never experienced this problem. I have played all of my other original Sims games on this laptop with no issue... Argh!
No I doubt that downloads could cause this problem. As a mystery we need to approach this systematically. Possible reasons for this to occur (silliest first 1. Someone is mischeviously doing it behind your back, 2. You're doin it in your sleep, 3. You're laptop has a rather novel and malicious virus, 4. You have found a weird Windows bug. If so then I'm afraid you're at the mercy of Microsft's help and support system. :(
Thank You I appreciate you brainstorming with me. I will do a massive debug and see what happens. Wish me luck
