    Testing Cheats

Hey, well I activated the "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" cheat, for upgrading my sims skills. Then I did the "boolprop testingcheatsenabled false" and it still allows me to drag the bars up? I really don't want that part of the cheat enabled anymore, and I even manually got my sims skills up to see if it made a difference, but it wont let my sim do advanced cookery (if you get what I'm saying!)

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Check you typed it correctly ... the "prop" cheats don't return errors if you enter an invalid property.

I feel really silly now, because I'd inputted a hack through the globalProps document, which I've removed now. The recurring problem is the food thing, my sims cookery level is at 9/10, and she can still only cook the basic meals. I'm sure as their cookery skill grew, they could cook more? Or was that only in the original Sims? Perhaps my sim would have to get a career in the Culinary business? Any suggestions?!

I apologise for all the questions. ^^

I think I know what has happened. This can occur within a vanilla game when a job chance card gives out a skill point and your sim was close to the max already ... typical of lazy Maxoids ( ... I make no apology for saying that ) the game is not built to cope with 10.5 skill points so it goes around again to less than zero ... :(

MY advice is to download Merola's multipainting, if you don't already have it, and use that, firstly to drain the affected sims' skills to zero and then (if you desire) to raise them again to whatever level you wish. Merola's painting has been around for 4 years without need for modification. It works as well now as it did when it was new. It accesses the boolProp -- debug -- cheats but it does it digitally instead of the clumsy human analog method of dragging gritty sliders (those bars may only have ten lights under them, but inside the game they have 1000 divisions ... skills ( and lots of other attributes) are gained and lost at the rate of 1% of a point at a time. Using boolProp to drag the sliders around is only a little less drastic than using a D7 Caterpillar bulldozer to clear away the breakfast dishes. :p

Do I have to activate any other cheats for this to work? Or...is there any way you need to do it? I'm slightly confused, I'm sure it's the simplest of things but you know. Any further help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
