Best Expansion Wich expansion is the best one in your opinion? I'm considering buying my first expansion. Wich should be the first? I'm thinking the school one (don't remember the name).
And there's a thread just like this already (see here). Just for the record, I think Seasons too. All Seasons fans rejoice!!
Seasons is a pretty demanding EP, graphics-wise. There's, well, there's all the weather. Whenever it snows or rains my lots slow down considerably. So if you already have to lower all of your graphics settings for base game, you'll probably have trouble running Seasons, or it just won't look good. Aside from Seasons Nightlife and OFB were the ones that added the most, in my opinion.
Maybe you can give you puter a face lift. Like adding more memory, or even putting a new mother board and cpu, or new graphics card. If its not a laptop that is. I don't know what machine you have. But you might be able to do those things.. Seasons is demanding on system resources.
I bought it today, and it works fine. But i think i have one problem. It seems i only have 3 seasons? Don't remember experiencing summer, and on the weather machine, where you can change weather and season, i can only choose Winter, Spring and Fall...
In the neighborhood screen you will see top left, a weather pie with four slices. Open each slice and you will see four seasons . chose a season for each slice of the pie. Wow that was hard to explain.
If you are playing in the Riverblossom Hills neighborhood, this is correct - there is no summer there, although you can change that as per Odinmoon's instructions. If you play one of the other neighborhoods, such as Pleasantview, you should have all four seasons.
That's just the way Maxis set that neighborhood up - probably because Winter best showcases what is new about Seasons with the snow and all, and then Spring and Fall so that you at least get a growing season in...
my favorite is, no doubt, seasons~! I only have two expansions right now, anyway... seasons and pets. but pets was, well.... pretty disappointing compared to seasons. there's just only so much you can do with pets. (it's a real fun making your pet, though.)
You need the University EP to have cellphones, I think. Maxis might have added them in with another EP. If you do have them in your game, there will be a blue kiosk on some community lots. You bring your sim there and click on the kiosk to buy one. It looks like a giant, futuristic vending machine.
