Sim Stamping Foot and wont go to bed Hi there. I must preface this by saying I just got Sims 2 a few days ago, and am a newbie, not really knowing what I'm doing. I searched this forum for the answer to this, but I cannot find it. If we are only supposed to ask technical questions here, please just delete my post. Anyway, my question is this: my husband/wife sims will not go to bed at the same time. One goes to bed, then the other stands there stomping his or her foot and thinking about something that looks like a wall, or a piece of cardboard. I've been trying to decipher each thing on my own and just let the game kind of unfold, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what this indescript picture is. There's nothing to it; just a tan rectangle. I think my family is going to die because they won't sleep until I provide a tan rectangle. What the heck? Am I missing something completely obvious? I think I am! Thanks for your help.
Or just simply move it to its rightful place. As for your problem: make sure that there is nothing blocking the sim's way to the bed (I know that if you put a wardrobe too close to the bed, it can cause getting-into-bed problems). Are you having this problem with all your families or just the one?
Yes, that's a route-blockage thing. Various things will block a sim's access to objects. Doors are a good one to check out ... an open door can often block a one tile wide route ... try reversing the door or maming the access route wider than just a single tile (eg move item further away from the wall). Another thing that can affect access and is often hard to spot is a roof problem. These can occur if you have been modifying/remodelling a house and messed up with the roof. The most obvious things are what muffin said. Only side tables and coffee tables can placed next to the head of the bed. A sim needs some access to the two squares nearest the head of the bed before they can get in or out ... hope this doesn't complicate things
Also, do you have a hack for bed ownership? I've had that problem before. With my bed ownership hack I have to clear ownership and then select sleep in bed again.
Thanks! Hey thanks a lot, Everyone! You were exactly correct. I don't know what I would have done without this advice. Now this game actually makes sense to me (I had my beds against the wall. I guess this is not just a design blunder in our world, but it the Sims world too...)
