    Entire Neighborhood Reset

I had several families in Strangetown that I have been playing for months. I started up Sims 2 to play for a little while last night. The game took a lot longer than usual to load and, when it did, it seemed like it started from scratch - e.g. "Creating Pets", "Creating Seasons", etc. When the neighborhood menu popped up, I went into Strangetown. Unfortunately, all my Sims, houses, terrain changes, etc. were gone. It looked like it reverted to the default Strangetown. The game was working fine last time I played (about a week ago) and I haven't installed anything since then. I have all of the expansion packs and all of the stuff packs except for Celebration and H&M. Is there a way to get my version of Strangetown back?

I do have a back up folder but it is fairly old - I backed up when I installed Seasons around April or May.

Neighborhoods are stored in the My Docs folder, so check that you're on the right user account and that no one has moved your EA Games folder somewhere.

Thanks Flameback777, you pointed me in the right direction. Somehow I had gotten two Sims 2 folders under my user account. One was last modified about the same time I last played the Sims. The other was modified the day I was having the problems. I moved the problematic one out of my EA Games folder and kept the previously modified one. Fired up the game and everything was back to normal.

I'm guessing I can delete the problematic Sims 2 folder??? It's just sitting in My Desktop right now.

Yep that's fine. Glad you sorted it out. :)
