Having issues with the cheat prompt

Well after about 2 months i reinstalled Sims 2 on my computer. Still had my saved files due to the fact i never deleted the folder that had all the Saved files but when i play the game and Press " Ctrl+Shift+C" i don't get a prompt, at first i thought it was my wireless keyboard but then i tried 2 other wired keyboards and still the same issue.

After i went to uninstalling the game and deleting the folder in "My Documents" (resulting me in losing my saved files) and completely reinstalled the game but the same issue...and ideas?

Some other stuff that might be useful, I'm running the game on a custom built computer, Windows XP, Intel Pentium 4 (2.8gHz) processor, 1.5gb RAM, 120GB HD, nVidia GeForce FX 5500 using a DVD drive to play the CD version (got the game before i got the drive)

and from reading another post i deleted Nero 7 from my comp and still have the same issue
