Nice machine. :) I'm not a Mac person, but have you tried Aspyr support and also have you run Mac update (or whatever it's called) to get the latest drivers for your graphics card (it's fairly new card and new drivers will tend to be released quite often until all the OS-related bugs are sorted out.

aspyr's support is pretty useless and I just downloaded all the updates available at the moment but I'm still getting the same problem.

so I just tried to go on again and the problem hasn't gone away completely but it is a WHOLE lot better. Now when I'm in a lot, the patches only come up when the sim I'm controlling is off-screen. The neighbourhood still looks pretty catastophic but at least I've made some progress (I think it was an update that did it in the end).Hopefully it'll get even better in the future as more updates come out.:D thanks!:D

Ooh, cool. Best advice is not to wait for Mac update to run itself but to manually check-in for updates at least weekly. There are so many darn graphics processors out there that updates are like a disease ... as fast as one bug is fixed another one comes along.

I have similar specifications on my Mac... we have the same graphics card. It seems to me that the Sims 2 isn't supported by it. I'm still trying to think of a solution though!

    Problem Solved!

The blue has gone! :DSo I got in touch with Aspyr and they gave me the solution I was looking for. As soon as you launch the game, hold the cmd key for a while and a dialogue box will appear. Just untick the box that says 'Optimized Rendering' and the patches should go away. They did for me anyway. Aspyr also said I might need to download a patch but since the patches have gone I don't think that'll be neccessary. I hope it works for you!:D:D:D:D(I cant stop smiling:( p
