Seek and ye shall find: A thread called our favourite download sites I doubt that the stuff you've downloaded has all been bad. More likely that you haven't been able to install it correctly. The exchange only uses self-installing sims2pack files (to prevent it being used for anything else except sims stuff as anyone would be able to upload anything.) sims2pack files are clumsy great lumps of file and are unnecessary. Most downloads are zip files ... ach! -- What am I doing. See the FAQ for a complete how do I download stuff ... I'm NOT typing it all again
http://www.parsimonious.org/ The above site is great. I love their themed sets. Their custom skins are great too. They have different colored eyes. Some of the eyes look freaky. I've put all kinds of their stuff in my game and all the objects and skins work fine. Also, make sure that you've downloaded and installed the 'CEP'. You need to do that for custom content that you've added to "Sims 2" to work. http://sims.ambertation.de/en/cep/ It's free and easy to use. Please also note that you have to reinstall the 'CEP' after every time you add an expansion pack, or the custom objects will disappear from the game.
