MY cooking Skill aint working. Hello My sims cooking skill is right near the top of the skills and yet she can only make a few things. I know when it hits about 6/7 she should be able to make the cheesecake and lobster and that, but she is on 9 and is still not able to make exciting desserts and dinners. The most she can make is Pork chop which is good...but not at the level she is at. I'm at my wits end because i dont know what to do and it is pretty annoying. Can someone help please. Thank you soooo much
Did your sim get a chance card that gave him a bonus of 1 or more cooking skill points? If you sims was near the top of the skilling scale (8.1, say) then being awarded two cooking skill points would make 10.1 (or rounded down to 10, in a any sensible scheme of maths ... but this Maxis we're dealing and going over 10 can cause the score totaliser to go on the wonk. Try this. 1) Save your sims by exiting to the neighborhood screen. This is so you can exit without saving if you decide you've messed up in the following stages 2) While in the neighborhood screen, open the cheat bar and enter: boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true 3) Load up the house and select the troublesome sim and bring up the panel with his skills on it 4) If you entered the cheat correctly you should be able to click with the mouse and add/remove skill points. 5) First drain all his cooking skill points and check to see that all he can cook is pretty much nothing. 6) Now give him the max and see if he can now cook the lobster. The fancy deserts are only available if you have Open For Business. The base game add Crepes Suzette at around 7 points, baked alaska at 8, 9 gives nothing as far as I recall and 10 is needed to cook lobster. If that works turn off the testing cheats with boolProp testingCheatsEnabled false If it doesn't exit without saving and report back and I'll see if I can think of some more daft ideas ...
Thanks Ermmm well i have downloaded some things.Erm it was a download to have fuller sims (as in chubbier).I had the clothes to go with it and that. But now if i had to delete my downloads that means i would have to start all over again isnt it? If someone replies to this and they dont have a solution i will then try the second and then thrid solution. But thanks to all who have replied.
Nope downloads like that would be unlikely to cause the problem. You need to force the skill down and then back up again like I described.
Hi Ok then thank you Has any of you had this problem before? And do you know if youe method will be successful or is it just a trial and error thing. Thank you
If I diagnosed your problem correctly my solution will work. I am wrong it will do no harm ... just follow the instructions.
I would listen to Mirelly, she knows what she's doing And you will need all 10 skill points to be able to make Lobster I believe, not just 9.
thanks I have just tried your solution but to no avail. Yes the fridge is stocked and also i know lobster is right at the top but i was giving an example Also i have all the expansion packs so i know open for business onlys does the extra things. Its still not working.... Is there any else i could try please? Thanks for the suggestions Babyace2006
hello When i drained her skills it went down to basic. When i put it up again she could cook pork chops but that was it. Still she can only cook 2 puddings (even though i have open for business) Is there anything else i could do? Thank you very much
