Official Bon Voyage Discussion Thread I recently purchased Bon Voyage, and on this inside of the CD case there read this... "NEW! Now your Sims can enjoy hobbies! Your Sims will have fun taking up a variety of creative, intullectual, or active leisure-time pursuits. They can even meet sims that share their interests and expand their social relationships. Develp your Sims' skills while they pursue their true pasttime passions. Will your Sims stumble reaching for new goals or find a new sense of fulfillment?" Coming Spring 2008. This sounds cool to me! This is also a thread on how Bon Voyage is for you. So speak up!

Hi Jazz is it possible to post the system specs for this expansion. I want to know if my machine can take it. E.g. Would you be able to run it if you can runs seasons? Thanks regards Moon
Bon Voyage System Specs: OS: 98/2000/ME/XP/Vista Processor: 1.3GHz* Memory: 512MB* Hard Drive: 1.5GB CD-ROM: 8 Speed Video Card: 32MB T&L Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 Compatible DirectX 9.0 *Windows Vista requires a 2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. Will post back how the game runs compared to Seasons once I play the game.
Oo nice. Lots of new stuff! I like the way that they gave the men more outfits than the women--for once. My closets are getting very full up on woman clothes these days. I have the many download sites to thank for that! And I like the sound of the 14 new turn on/offs!! EXACTLY what I need.
just bought it... backing up before install... can't afford to lose saved games. the new stuff pack sounds good too........... may have to get rid of downloads and play the game straight.
Pics from Bon Voyage... 1. My sim and Bigfoot go fishing. (Did you know you can have him move in with you?) 2. Pickpocketed! 3. My sim and Bigfoot do the Slapdance
Yikes! Pickpockets! :rotfl: Also how come Bigfoot get away with not wearing clothes. I'm shocked and incensed (to borrow the adjective from the Ray Stevens classic ) *shuffles off muttering ... I don't care how hairy he is, tell him to put some pants on!*
yep! Pickpockets! Hint- the way to distract them, or make them go away, is to distract them with a game.... hmm....
. I absolutely love how you can make a new neighborhood and have a beachfront house to live in. I think so far that is my favorite new thing. I also love the new jewelry for men and women. Is there an easy way of getting rid of all of my downloaded items without unistalling the games, deleting, and reinstalling? That just takes soo long and I have been doing it each time a new expansion comes out. But, back to the new expansion.. I am very pleased with it hehe. I just wish there were more hair styles. Thx ))
This is because the game takes too long to load, right? Otherwise the simplest way is to use the disable custom content button .... If that's not what you really want then .... Just delete the contents of My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads\ ... you will find that any sims who where using custom content will look a bit weird and furniture will go missing but you'll have to spend, spend, spend to put that right. (To be on the safe side, you could load up every house and family first and delete/change all their stuff from custom to Maxis made and then delete the Downloads folder ... but that will take time.)
Totally different point ... I don't have it yet ... but reading the boards I have found this bit of advice. While on vacation, time is synchronised between the various locations. (eg leave hotel at 9am and go to beach for day. Leave beach at 6pm and return to hotel and it should be 6pm at hotel.) This can be get broken and causing billing errors (doubling/triple charging) but it is easy to avoid. When returning to a hotel you must choose the option: "home" from the walk to/taxi to menu. "Home" in this instance means your vacation home base. You can only send you sims to their own house by a specific checkout command. If you don't choose "home" but "another lot" you get a neighborhood list which includes your hotel and choosing your hotel from that menu will take you there as a tourist, not as a resident so although you can use your rooms you will get charged as though you didn't come back (as well as getting charged anyway) and the time synch fails. Silly Maxis.
A-a-and we have a big foot! How funny. :slaphappy: What's a holiday without big foot? The pickpocketer sounds scary. Ooh, I am so getting this game! *jumps up and down*
ooo big foot maybe they could shove a yetti in there or loche ness monster oo or easter bunny! hey why isnt easter in the game it cant be because it's a christian holiday can it but christmas is on the game.
Jazz; Hope you don't mind; I changed the title of your thread from "How is it?" to the official Bon Voyage Discussion thread. Mainly because I created one not knowing it was already being discussed in here! This is the first time I haven't pre-ordered an expansion pack or bought it on the release date so I'm dying for more info! (I've been a bit preoccupied planning a certain event )
DUH!!!! (and I mean that in the nicest wayrolleyes: Let's see, my metrola(sp?) painting isn't showing up in game...I love that there are more preference slots... Our sims need to be more choosey I like also that you have a choice between sitter and nanny for your pets and babies. & there are specialty lots... oint:hotels!!! but the load time between scenes is awful my computer is better than the specs but I think I have to update the video card or something.
Merola?? I've been calling it the Mireola Multipainting ROTFL! :rotfl: I think I'm going to stick with just saying Multipainting from now on! Oh hotels! *looks dreamy* Sounds lovely. This EP would be a dream EP if the loading times weren't so awful, like Michelle says.
metrola... merola... what ever it's functioning once again. other bits and pieces you find jewelry under make-up - and what ever you do - I repeat- whatever you do, do not save the game or close it if you are between lots no matter how impatient your computer partner is. Peter Piper never arrived at the lot he was walking to and I cannot retrieve him. Nor can I evict him from home or delete his home lot because he is on vaction. sounds like catch 22 to me. But he did welcome the new girl in town, but she can't call him... because he's on vacation. go figure. Didn't Maxis figure this might be a possible problem?
