My kids can't open the Sims 2 It's a family computer, Vista, and I as Windows Admin have allowed sharing of the entire EA folder to all members. Yet, no one can load the game without the Admin password, and I don't want the kids to be admins. Surely someone knows how to fix this...I'd appreciate some help.
LOL ... I'm having Vista issues myself. I'm afraid that you'll need to have individual user accounts. I'm not saying there's no solution, but there's not one I can fathom (yet). I'm having issues with getting Roller Coaster Tycoon to work ... it loads up great but the game refuses to save. :( You might consider getting one of the newest expansion packs (Bon Voyage in particular), which are (theoretically) hard-coded to work within the Vista environment and thus ought to be capable to responding to the Vista dictats on user-privileges. That said the best solution is to have each user have their game files in \User\Documents\ For what it's worth, my own installation is having trouble with my customised install. OS on C:\, Program Files on E:\, and Documents on F:\, so if hard disc space might be problematic, they are cheap enough that the whole family can one (or partition share of one) each. Hope this helps. Vista is still somewhat new in regard to Sims 2 playing users with experience enough to answer all questions.
