    bad nanny alert!

funny thing just happened, thought i'de share!

my hot single dad was off at work, while the nanny was home taking care of his daughter, Karris, she decided to make a breakfast sandwhich and evidently forgot that it was on the stove...well you can only imagine, i'm on the second floor making sure nanny was putting karris in the crib for her nap and flames are shooting thru the floor into poor little karris's room!! i quickly make the nanny selectable (thanks to the insimenator! ;)) and she calls 911.....while the fireman is putting out the fire that has now engulfed the stove and a counter, good old nanny starts cleaning the top of the counter while it's still on fire........then of all things she leaves an hour before dad was coming home, luckily she wasn't taken away though....
by the way the nanny's name is calista despret :D

anyone else have nanny horror stories?!

All the sim nannies are utterly stupid and in a sane world they wouldn't be let out of the asylum even in chains, with an escort. I certainly wouldn't leave one of them at home with anything as dangerous as a fridge. Funny story though.

PS whatever you do make sure you put in a smoke alarm ... the fire service is called automaticaly if you have one those doo-hickeys on the premises.

some of my nannies are useless... often if I call them in to look after toddlers and babies while the parents are still at home so they can get skill points etc without worrying about the kids, the nanny doesn't bother using the loo, and usually wets herself in the middle of the house.
And then she has a bath!!!
She's shy enough about using the toilet to actually wet herself, but using the bath.. not a problem at all!

I once had a nanny that just wouldn't leave my house. Parents kept dismissing her, shooing her, asking her to leave but she just wouldn't leave. I had to delete her with the moveobjects on cheat in the end. Talk about loving her job. Sheesh.

one of my nannies did the same thing - she eventually went away after about a day of singing to herself and a brief nap on the sofa.:p

oh, it's so annoying when nannies don't leave! When they come on a schedule (sp) they never leave once the parents have come home in the evening, and I always forget to dismiss them, so the family always has to pay extra :p

I had a nanny kidnap the baby once - I believe that one was also Callista!

Anyway, I sent the father upt to tuck in the baby after he got home from work, only she wasn't in her crib, and the nanny was missing! Niether the nanny nor the baby were anywhere to be found in the entire house!

Now, this was one of my Legacy families, so the lot was huge. My legacy sim had started out life living in a gazebo on the property, and the gazebo had a secret room underneath it. Well, after my sim had more money, and was able to start building a house, I used the secret room for storage, and then "bricked" up the entrance (removed the door).

So here's what happened to the Nanny and Baby...Apperently, one of the items in storage was a crib that I had forgotten about. So old Nanny Callista had gotten it into her head that she wanted to skip the perfectly acceptable crib that was up in the nursery of the new house, and instead absolutley was insisting that she must put the baby in the crib in the storage room under the gazebo - only the entrance had been removed!

So that's where I found her...outside the walled up entrance under the gazebo, baby lying on the ground, and Callista stamping her feet with thoughts of the crib inside driving her mad!

And that's why all nannies are stupid ... :D I enjoy turning the fridge around so they can't get into it ... expecially if the resident diaper-filler has ... erm ... filled his quota. Needless to say, dopey nanny thinks that the most important thing baby-bunting needs is a quick 1/100th of an ounce of formula before she'll consider any other actions. I tested this once by placing the crib a ridiculous distance from the fridge but very close to the changing table ... which had to be passed to get to the fridge, anyway. Nope. Silly nanny wanted to carry stinky junior all the way from Sim City to Alpha Centauri, even though the last time she did that (ten minutes ago) access to the fridge was blocked. No matter ... it keeps her out of mischief. ;)

I once hired a nanny just for a day because Mom and Dad sim both were out of vacation, and junior was set to become a teen the next day. Well, now a different nanny shows up each day at the same time and scolds me because I don't have any kids living there.

I don't want to move. I like that house.

In another situation I get two nannies each day even though I fired them.

I once trapped a nanny in a nanny zoo and let her die in there but then had a change of heart and quit without saving. This was a house with no less than 3 nannies, and only 2 went home each day. The maid stood outside the nanny zoo and stamped her foot all day.

I did make a nanny cry once, though. I did the one person raising 7 toddlers challenge and Mom was ready to plotz so I called a nanny. She ended up standing in a corner sobbing with 7 stinky toddlers sleeping on toddler mats, eating dog food or crying because their diapers needed changing. That made me laugh.

The only nanny I've ever liked was the first nanny I used. I had my sim and her child make friends with her and she helped my single mom sim a lot. But ever since then they've been nothing but trouble.

Servos make excellent au pair, and you can power them down in the corner whenever you want! ;)

Yep, I agree. They also make excellent gardeners, as they rarely tire. I have a sim with a beautiful garden because her servo talks to her plants all day long.

Just never have them fix your shower. They can bathe your kids but the shower is bad news. :p

If you have Open for Business there is a robot making bench. A servo is the biggest robot they can make (once they have a gold badge) and once you turn it on it becomes part of the family and you can control it. Basically a robot sim.

Those nannies will drive you crazy. They love to get in the refrigerator and have started countless cooking fires. I had one move in with a family once and I couldn't get rid of her. She eventually died of old age. A few days ago one of the nannies was babysitting a set of twin infants for one of my families. I looked away at something on the T.V. for a couple of minutes and when I looked back at the game one of the Twins was missing. I looked all over for him and eventually found him. She took the baby outside and left him on the sidewalk in the snow. Poor baby had to wait for one of the parents to come home to take him inside. Also I have one family where I keep firing the nannies but they keep showing up for work. Two of them keep showing up to work and not necessarily during my family's work hours. It purely random. Sometimes they're both there at the same time and other times there is only one but the other shows up a few hours later. I only hired one nanny. I love using the servos but unfortunately they take time to make. Sometimes the little ones come before my families can produce one.

nannys are completely useless ive hired one once and she was baby sitting a toddler and twin infants and she sat there watching telly for 3 sim hours while the babies where going hungry, diaper filling and crying the toddler was sitting up in her cot crying hungry and desperatly needing the potty andd finally the nanny got up from the sofa but it wasnt to go anywhere near the kids she went the toilet and then made herself something to eat. i fired her as soon as the parents came home

One option to make nannies more fun (and add a little tweak to the whole family) is to put a swimming pool in front of the door. (A single lane is enough, just add two ladders.) Then everyone walks around in swimsuits all day. A nanny in a swimsuit is a plus. Also maids, gardeners, etc. Try the firemen! Not so good for servos, though.

    My Nanny Doesnt Go Away.

The kids grow up and they go to school when the parents go work so i ended services with nanny and she didnt go away!! Then i rang the nanny on the phone and i said end schedules and stuff and she still didnt go away so in the end i just did the cheat move_objects on and deleted her and her van because they wudnt go away!
    Anyone else had this problem???

lmao! I'll need to remember not to hire nannies when I finally can afford to buy this game. They sound like a complete nightmare!
