career graphical glitches? sorry if this has already been posted, but i had a look through and couldn't see anything... i'm having problems with graphics (mainly career related) in the sims 2 (nightlife). Certain graphics such as the career symbols and symbols for sims memories have disappeared (eg. for memories just a blank green or red square appears) and some of the graphics in sims speech too. Also, my sims don't change into their work clothes, and when they get a promotion the game doesn't recognise it (eg. the want for 'get promoted' does not get fulfilled) i've had the problem since installing university but it fixed itself when i installed nightlife, but now its happened again! does anyone know how to fix this? thanks xxx
Open My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\ Delete the following files Accessory.cache cigen.package ContentRegistry Groups.cache These are all files which the game uses to maintain itself. You may not have them all, it depends how you have played the game, as to which ones the games has made. If they become corrupted ceratin graphical (and worse) faults occur. Luckily deleting them forces the game to remake new (uncorrupted versions of those it needs) at start up. This will cause the game to to take noticeably longer to start the first time it needs any of the deleted files ... but once done all should be hunky dory.
