Galactic state and back First, I think that Spore is going to be the greatest human achievement since the invention of Skittles. But I have a question that doesn't seem to have been answered directly in any of the things I've read: When you get to the Galactic Stage and get to fly around the galaxy in a snazzy starship, will you at any time be able to go back and play with an individual city for a while? It would seem like you'd be able to, but I just want everyone's ideas/comments. Thanks!
I don't think that it's been said, but I'd assume you'd be able to... That is an interesting question.
I agree this is going to be the best game. :sporerules: To answer your question, I would think so, since only a few creatures could come with you in the spaceship (or maybe only 1) to go to another planet or galaxy and the others would be left at were your creature first lived. So I think, where ever you made a city or if you just created some volcaneos to make an atmosphere to make a city you can sure go back. Because there may be some new cities on the planent that were put from the server, and that you might want to take over or make piece with, but then again I could be totaly wrong, but I hope that we can do what you said if not it would be weird, but still good.
I'm glad you all see the necessity of being able to switch between gameplay styles. The game would lose something if after you have a starship, you cannot go back to manage your own planet anymore. And, furthermore, if you have to colonize other worlds, you would have to return to City mode somehow, so you can build up that planet. And, for clarification, there will be multiple galaxies?! I knew there would be a galaxy--filled with several hundred to a thousand planets--but you're saying there's going to be an entire universe? This will be the best game ever!! :sporerules: (And even though some sites are saying the game will be released in the fall of 2006, I hope that guess is very inflated, as I can wait no longer than the end of this year.)
Yeah, there is going to be many galaxies. Its gonna be grrreat! (How Tony would see it ) I sure hope we can be able to go back to our first planet. If not I don't know what my Pilos would do. Note-Pilo (Pilos meaning more then one) is the name of the creature/s I am going to create. There gonna look kinda like my avatar. :laughing2:
The answer... OK, because I really wanted to solve this--and I have no life--I did some "research," and I have figured out that after you get to the Galactic Stage, you CAN go back and manage individual cities. First, go here: http://www.snootyspore.com/pics/spore027.jpg Notice that in the upper left it indicates which Stage you're in. This one indicates City Stage, as there are buildings in the little HUD thing. Now, go here: http://www.snootyspore.com/pics/spore020.jpg Notice that it is Galactic Stage, because there is a starship in the HUD. Finally, go here: http://www.snootyspore.com/pics/spore014.jpg We're back at the city, but it is still the Galactic Stage, because there is a picture of a starship in the HUD, despite the fact that the game is being played in a city. Woohoo! Well, we can all rest easy now...
I think we can still control it, because the whole point to the space ship is to takeover other cities/planets or make friends with them and to make you creture race stronger so I think you can still controll it, think of it this way, you are Will Wright (the top of the Spore game) and you can do almost everything and you have tons of money, but he can still go to McDonals and eat off the dollar menu(this would be the city in Spore game) Edit- Hopefully this will be answered soon, as well with the fact wether or not we will have to pay for that server thing. :indifferent:
I think you can go to cities, but if you like expand over the universe, how will you know what city you need to go to and where?
I think it will be possible, i read it somewhere that when you reach a high advanced stage, and you can see the whole univerese, you can "zoom-in" and concentrate on one of your cities/villages..... Heat
It would be sad if our creatures just had to start all over everytime.. But I don't think so,, Didn't Will Wright say that you could "take over" the universe? That would mean that it'd be your creatures all over. Meaning having cities all over.. Maybe I'm just philosophing/hoping, but it sounds pretty right...... Oh,, and MrErops, COOL creatures and love the name, Pilo..Pilos.
Hehehe :laughing2: Well thanks strillor. Nice to see you back. I think I read that as well your creature can take over the universe so you have to go back and make your other creatures have food and some money for other stuff like I said before not every single one of you creatures (I think) are gonna be able to be in the spaceship maybe like 3 or for or only 1, so going back to your first planet is a must. But what if your creature dies from a big animal. Opps overreacted there, they have that spaceship that they can do anything with, so I highly doubt they will get killed, but it is a possiblity. :bouncy:
well thank you.. I got so sad when there didn't come any news, so I held a break.. but now,, DAMN I'm back :laughing2: But I have a new question about that galactic thingy.. When "I" fly with the spaceship to another planet, with a creature,, how shall the creature mate to create a colony on the other planet?? And another question.. When does the evolving stop? is it when You have reached the spaceship and the DOOM WEAPON.. Or is it possible to keep evolving and get billions of "brain points" ??
Well first off, the creture may not mate right away, they can go back to the planet they come from (in which where you creatures live) and summon them up I guess with a beem to the spaceship and drive over to the planet and drop them of, after that they I guess you can mate, or maybe more then one creature will be able to fly around in the spaceship and then you just I guess would land the spaceship, get them out, and have them mate. I guess the envolving would never stop since the whole galaxy is filled with tons of places to visit. And since you would need to spend some money on your new city that you built on another planet I guess you would have to make more money to concor the other planets, the brain points still I think could go up so you are always improveing and re forming your creature, if you belive that monkeys envoled into humans think of it that way. And also maybe once you get to that state you might not need brain points and instead of earning them you would earn money so you could expand you creatures colony.
hmm,, sounds possible.. and,, well.. at first,, yes I'm to the monkey theory.. how do people guess that?? :laughing2: I'm hoping to make this mix between YODA (from starwars) and .. pumpkins,, and make small really clever animals, they don't need to have weapon because they can manipulate the enemy to do them favors :spin: so I'm hoping that brain-points will keep coming!
Sounds like a cool creature, I will be sure to look out for it and become "pals" with it in the game.
When you've made an ultimate weapon that can you anywhere in the universe in just a few minutes, I don't think you need to continue evolving your brain. Possibly evolution points would keep building up so you could change your creatures form, but what else would there be to build? And along the same lines, you've built a spaceship that can travel faster than light. Spontaneously creating more creatures to live on a planet and then giving them the knowledge of your entire civilization shouldn't be too much of a problem.
MrErops : and I'll be looking out for som Pilos... :laughing2: and I want to name my creatures Yokins (YO(da) + (pump)KIN) :spin: OverlordBill : but if I want really clever animals who just keep getting smarter and smarter and smarter, and they'll invent super-weapons or maybe telepatic powers  they'd need brain-points every time, right??
strillor- Nice name, very nice name. I think they could maybe get realy samrt but it would have to end, or maybe the more smarter you get the more food you have to eat since there is no super duper creature that will win, it will have different effects on what it does. :bouncy:
thx for my name thing.... but... of course my creature will have a problem when it isn't clever enough and isn't strong.. but I want to have it very FAST in the earlier stages... But clever is my main.. maybe my creature'll get more clever than me  haha,, just imagining again,... of course there'll be a limit,, I just hope the creatures can be really clever and SURVIVE on clever-ness....
