Is spore gonna be high system requirements? I would like to kno cuzz my computer can run almost all games on all high settings I would still like to kno if the requirements are high
Spore is only going to run on... Let's see... the Super Computing Blade System GTX4000, or anything higher on the 25th edition of the Top 500 Super Computers list. I'm dead serious.
Well good for you Heat. You can detect sarcasm. Oh wait you didn't. You still think I was serious. You didn't happen to watch Roseanne while learning English did you?
Bill, how about for once in your life you try being civil, and cut this cynical, self-righteous attitude you got going. Treat people with respect for once and get over yourself. That said, I don't think the system requirements would be INCREDIBLY high. However, it is likely that the game will be much more processor oriented, rather than memory- and graphics oriented that most modern games are. Would anyone happen to know Maxis' history for how intensive their games are? Do their games tend to be easy to run or difficult? I know I've never had any problems with any of their games, but then again my computer is also a beast.
Simcity 4 Rush Hour had minimum requirements of 500MHz prosessor, 128-258 MB of RAM depending on what operating system you had and 32MB Direct 3D video card with support for DirectX 7.0. Because spore looks like it has simple graphics in the environment compared to other games, I think it will have similar minimum requirements for RAM and video cards, but with a higher prosessor amount for the procedural generation of the creatures and other stuff.
I have seen the light! Lord be praised for I am now a changed man! No longer shall I respond with wit instead of boringly explaining what I truly meant, for that is the devil's way and the Lord said to me there shall be none of that! Oops. It seems I've still got a bit of horns and tail. Bugger off. Do you really want to build a one way time-machine to 1984? And just for you Mr. Heat, if System Requirements were too high, Maxis/EA would lose customer base. Any computer built within the last five years will be able to handle it, optimal settings of course not, but play it it shall. Earlier than that you'll definitely run into problems.
That's why i said i doubt what you said in one of your posts here. Maybe, Maybe i can't detect sarcasm, but i surely can't detect the stupid kind of sarcasm... Heat
Bill, you turned me on in Crestfallen and you turn me on here. As for the system requirements, Will was running the game on a mere laptop. It may have been one of those super-expensive Falcon NW fragbooks, but I'm pretty sure this will have the same requirements as Sims 2.
Alone it's comic-like look makes me assume it won't be that demanding on computer resources. Of course, they could overdo it with lighting and stuff, but let's just wait and see, it's very early to say anything at all.
Beg your pardon? I believe I saw him first. Actually, no I didn't... I do believe one might simply turn the quality down on detail and would be able to play it without one's computer exploding. I've done the same thing with Half-Life 2. Mind you, any non-wall object disappears after 3 walking seconds away from me...
I agree with JProctor... I've done the same thing (bring down the quality a notch) with my PC games, and I think all/most of EA's/Maxis' games in the past have had options to do so, ....so, most likely Spore would work fine if you lower the quality on some things. Hopefully you won't have to worry about any very high system requirements.
Im not too much of a computer wiz, but it has been mentioned that you will almost always connected to the internet. Do you think that might have anything to do with cutting down on requirements. Ya know, like an online data base.
Reminds me of Wow (World Of Warcraft), which i started playing just a week ago (very addicting game, very!)...now, by far my PC meets all the recommended requirements, but something we haven't thought of yet is server lags. WoW is MMORPG (Massive Multi Player Online Role Playing Game), which means that your PC "talks" with the game server very often....While Spore isn't this kind of game, and you have your "own world" and only connect to server when you need content, i wonder what'll happen when alot of content is being uploaded and downloaded in the same time...could really be problimatic. About PC requirements, shouldn't exceed the sims 2 requirements IMO. Heat
