    Spore Cheats?

Just wondering if anyone knows whether or not Spore will have cheat codes? And also, tips/tricks would be helpful...

Though none of this really matters now since the game hasn't actually been released yet, but, you know... When it does come out, this info would be useful...

Well I can see codes being used to alter the limits of the game such as height restrictions on both monsters and building or size restriction est., along with the basics such as more money or skipping a stage in the game!

Do you think there will be hacked objects players could use to cheat with?

I'm not sure if that would really work. Yes, you can buy 'objects' for your creatures, but such things are a far cry from what they're able to do in the Sims games, since they're used in different manners.

I have to agree with Metranisome. The cheats will probably be limited to altering the limits of the game, such as restrictions on the game from using too many computer resources. If you had money or resource cheats, or cheats to make the perfectly invincible predator that reproduced like bunnies and could travel from planet to planet, it would unbalance the gaming community.

I don't think they would let that "Perfect Predator" be; Wouldn't that sort of thing ruin other people's games?

Yes, which is exactly why I said I doubt there would be infinite resources cheats, or invincibilty cheats, or the like. If you had those it could unbalance not only your game, but everyone's game that has that creature in it, which could be quite a few games if you have your upload feature turned on.

Then again... maybe using cheats makes you ineligible for upload. That way the uploads are completely fair.

    Hmm...

If there will be cheats -- or even merely hints, tips, and tricks for certain things in the game, will Snooty Spore have info about those on this website, or links to sites with that info, or would we have to look it up ourselves? :shy:

Sorry... It's just that I am such a big cheater in the Sims games, I don't know how I will be able to play Spore without using cheat codes! ;) (Hope I am not offending anyone with this cheating thing in any way...) :(

Probably yes because I saw when they created a creature they had so many points they could use up and a useful cheat would be to make that number unlimited.

Ew, if this game had cheats like that, I'd steer well clear. I boycott any game that lets you use cheats in the online mode, completely spoils it for me. Then again, I never play online games anyway, I only ever intend to and repeatedly forget. Um, well. Yeah. I wouldn't ever want to use cheats for Spore even offline anyway, unless I was just experimenting, like my love of flinging sims about with 'move_objects on'. I've never used cheats in a serious family on Sims 2. *hints for special badge*

I know, I don't like using cheats... It's not a challenge if there is cheating involved.

 Thanks... I have been wondering if there was such a thing, now I just would like to know if I can 'ban' or reject a creature from my game should I dislike it.

I highly doubt that EA would produce spore without cheats. Be it something like BoolProp in TS2, or even simple money/resource cheats.

There are always cheaters which need to be pleased. :grumpy:

The game is still in development, not even due out for AT LEAST another year, and you are already wondering about how to cheat?!

I'll admit I like the odd cheat to see how things could go if I was invincible and a gazillionaire, but it puzzles me as to why you would consider cheating without playing and 'completing' the game first?!

    ... odd

    * sorry for "flaming"

Uhm.. You could have said it a bit nicer. "No offence" is not a reason to go and flame. And.. retarded is not the greatest word to use as an insult either.

Please, if you wouldnt mind.. edit your post.

I do agree that it is really early to talk about cheats, espically cheats.. But its just as easy to express my opinion by stating it, and not thrashing the original post, or poster.

Would it really matter however how killer the opponent is? Even if we assume that Player A has the ability to cheat and create a perfect predator, and then raises it, thus training the computer, to have this creature kill any other lifeform it sees, why would the game insert this into your world? Unless I'm gravely mistaken, Wright has said the game analyzes your playing style and brings in other content to compliment it. The only creature I can think of that would compliment the perfect predator is a pikachu, e.g. a pest that needs to be killed. This perfect predator would be no more helpful in playing the game than your own avatar being a rock.

Well, yes i agree Hazath, well said! But i'm sure there will be cheats for the game, such as advance to the next phase or even a simpler: gain 1 'evolution' point.
