Realism in Spore; Is There Such A Thing? How real can Spore get? Can we make human like creatures? Are there mammals? Instead of an reptiles? No eggs. Can there be feathered creatures? How complex is the RTS?
Re: Realism in Spore; Is There Such A Thing? I think Spore can get very real.. ecosystems, foodchains... of course not REAL REAL as our world, but still very real compared to other games in that genre.. Yes, you can create a human, but not like in Sims2.. they'll probably look alike and talk weird Yes.. there're both mammals and reptiles (I read it somewhere) Yes, there'll be feathered creatures I don't know what RTS is.......
The people in the Sims do talk weird. I think RTS is real time strategy, I think it's the city combat.
I agree with Strillor, it can get very realistic. Maybe not from the visual side, but from the behavioral one. Economics, relationships, strategy, life-style... For example: you can choose to create a tribe that is very radical and wouldn't accept any form of mutual relationship with any other race, this might give you a dominant postion, but from the other hand it might hurt in the financial field, or result in two tribes forming a double-assault on you. So if you intend to create George W.Bush it may be not the perfect game for you, but you have similar options of the political-economical-behavioral in Spore. =) Heat
About these relationship between tribes, and how you can worships Gods, where did you get the information? Is it going to be in the game or is it just rumored? Thanks for any help towards my question.
I suggest that when asking a question, it is better that it'd be laid in a friendly forum, MrErops. I didn't find that mentioned yet. Tribes. no, it's not rumored, it's a fact that Stephen Glicker mentioned in one of this podcasts, quoted from here: Heat
Tribes and religion are verified, have you ever seen the first clip? They have the tripods dancing around the campfire, praticly for their, now existing religion :grouphug:
Re: Realism in Spore; Is There Such A Thing? It's likely everything will lay eggs since it is just a symbol to enter the creature/microbe editor, and not actually a birth. Since you arne't going just one generation it makes sense that the egg isn't just symbolizing one birth, it is just an icon that lets you evolve a little. I don't belieeve anything confirmed mammals and reptiles since those are specific to earth evolution. And spore won't have "categories" for creatures like that. ANd it's unlikely anything will really "talk", they'll probably do some kind of sim speak. um, probably not, they were dancing because of the drums and because they were excited. Dancing doesn't have to equal worship, and there isn't really a reason to think it does.
I get tired, its quite close to true, and have you EVER seen about ANYTHING dancing before, uh, 1980 or something, that didint have to do about religion?
Re: Realism in Spore; Is There Such A Thing? Sure, if you want to be that bland. I'm going for a Spird :laughing2: A spider bird!!!!
I really don't want to start/continue on with this religous debate, but during one of his presentations at E3-06, Will Wright did say that "they are starting to worship me, kinda like a god", when he visited another planet and set off some fireworks to try impress the inhabitants. Therfore it is entirely feasable that religion may very well be an aspect of the game. Whether it is an important one, I cannot say; However, looking at our world and our history, religion (whether you believe in it or not) has played a very important role in where we are today. I would like to see the 'option' of religion for my race, in the game, but also have the ability to completely disregard it if I feel it necessary.
As far as I'm concerned, I dont care how 'real' spore gets. I have never seen purple planets with green oceans. Its the fantasy aspect that really interestes me. But.. eh, there will be humanoid creatures, I know that for a fact as I will be creating atleast one species. Um.. maybe there will be a human like mouth that speaks similish? That would tie it nicely with the TS franchise.
Me either. I don't care how real it is, but I really am interested in seeing how different types of creatures evolve. I also want to see the other planets...it'll be so nice to visit a planet that was created by a different person. It tells you a lot about the person...but I doubt we can tell the difference. I'm looking forward to playing Spore! :bouncy:
In one of his demos, Will did say that there is a kind of 'trading card' aspect which will tell you all about the creature/planet/building/vehicle and who made it. Also, (and this is really cool!), he says that there will be a method of adding those certain people who's creations you like to a 'friends list', so when your game links up to get more content, it will firstly grab the required items from the people you enjoy playing with! I think there will also be a method of blocking content too, so you don't end up with cruddy designs. It would be interesting to be able to edit the database for your individual version of Spore, just incase you do create/download something you would never want to use. (Or to have uploaded to someone else's game and be humiliated! lol)
Which religion is disco? Or the jitterbug, or the waltz? John Travolta is not a god. Very close, but no.
