Spore Extinction???

Extinction???

i was just wonddering, does any1 kno yet if there are going to be natural disasters and like could , in any way, ur species like get totally wiped out???

 

Welcome to Snooty Spore! I'm afraid I'm not sure on the question (which, incidentally, should probably be in the 'Questions' forum). You probably can have your species wiped out by other creatures, but I don't know if natural disasters play a part in it (though I think I've heard about volcanoes at some point). Anyway, I can't help but notice the poll and topic seem to have absolutely no relation to each other - and it's as good as confirmed that we won't see Spore until after April 2007 anyway, I think, so we kinda don't really have any reason to vote on the other two options.

 

EA officially said that April 2007 is the ABSOLUTE EARLIEST we'll see SPORE, and I think it's for the better.

A UFO can make volcanoes on a planet, but we only know that it's a terraforming tool.

(ETA: I'd be happy if SPORE came out April TWO-THOUSAND-SIX...hahaha.

 

The volcanoes would probably be a weapon if the planet is inhabited, but I don't know about any others.

but i mean doesnt april seem like way way to late , i mean almost a damn year, and it looked practically ready from all those videos???

 

This is on the home page. True, it does seem practically finished, but that's what everyone was saying about a year ago when the release date was speculated to be mid-2005, and now we have EA confirmation, so voting otherwise would kinda be going against that...

Anyway, this is off-topic. Actually, what is the topic? The poll/message contradiction's kinda confused me.

yes but i mean if they get it done, why wait till april if they dont have to , i mean november is def more the prime buying season, and i mean i KNOW for a fact that the sims 2 was spposed to be released early 2005 for a long time in the beg of 2004, but then they decided to release it in sept... so i mean hey

 

WR did say something about this in one of the videos I recently watched.

I wonder if you could use the teraforming tool that pulls in an ice comet to create an ocean on the planet to drown all the inhabitants. If for instance you are at war with another planet, you just drop 5 of 6 of those comets and raise the water lvl to the point where there is no land to live on for your enemy. (underwater colonies aside of coarse)

I expect there will be natural disasters but all the natural disasters I've seen (i.e. volcanoes) have been prevoked by the UFO's features. Also, I'm not sure if your species can get wiped out but I certainly know other species can! :laughing2:

 

Natural Disasters, I'm sure of it! Volcanos definately, things like tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, etc. who knows. But the space junk in SimCity 4 I htought was neat, so many like asteroids falling to your planet because a nearby planet got destroyed. Good question by the way!

 

I saw in one of the many movies I've watched, that your species can not be wiped out entirely. However, I know you can totally waste other species.

And if they don't release the game as soon as they can, then they should atleast release a beta version of the creature editor.

Maybe when you conquer a planet with your species another better species tries to conquer the same planet and the only way to do that is the wipe out all life on the planet or let them survive and use them as slaves. Muhaha :laughing2:
