    Complaints?

Dont get me wrong, I love every bit of what Ive seen from E3, but there are some things I wonder about sometimes. This is why a demo needs to be developed soon, along with a forum directly connected to the developers.

    1. What happened to the use of limbs for attack? For those of you who have seen the G4 "Hands On", why arent the spike balls used for attack, why is it only bite?

    2. What happened to the ragdoll effect? When creatures were tested their arms stayed completely stiff as they walked, no sway at all. Its also apperent with the spine too, what if I wanted to make something that seemed like it had a rubber spine?

    3. The most dissapointing thing is that all these things were in the GDC video, but now there not. What gives?

Well, first off, I hope you realize the demo being shown at E3 is a sort of interactive mini-film and not an actual demo of the game itself. This is done because many different people have to work demo of the game and they may not be that good at it as Wright was at GDC to move the creature around.

The only part of the demo at E3 the people are actually doing is the first creature make, after that the interactive film begins, which is why you will not see the same creature made previous moving in the game after that.

I do agree that they need to bring the game to some testers outside the dev team, and I, as you and anyone on this forum would volunteer immediately to help test it.

Perhaps jellyfish type creatures will be the first EP :laughing2:

As for the lost attacks via limbs... perhaps as they prepared for this show they wrote some new script that bugged the as yet unfinished game and they had to show it as is  an uncompleted game still in alpha phase. Cool beans! :D

Yeah there were obviously alot of bugs in the E3 demos, the Spike ball hands were obviously not supposed to do that, and I'm assuming the still hands are the same way. I wouldnt worry too much about it, as the game still has a year to be worked on. It'll be awesome by launch :)

I agree, the game is in it's early stage of development, but soon enough EA Maxis will have a spore chatroom like they did with The Sims 2. And I agree about the spine, but they did have an underwater scene, so maybe they will develop the "rubber spine" or just air bladders or something

I have faith that EA will come through.

All of these complaints will more than likely be addressed.

Currently my only issue is the question of wings.. and the possibility to breathe fire ;) lol.. well thats a hope.

I have faith in Will Wright's ability to fulfill expectations (a faith I no longer have for Peter Molyneux, unfortunately). The Sims 2 delivered just what it promised and more.

Also, I'm pretty sure wings (as well as aquatic civilizations) were confirmed in the Gaming Steve interview with Wright. And this one.

While this interview is kinda old, I havn't heard anything to the contrary.

True. true. What's not in the game could easily be created by some creative mods, look what they've done to TS2!

I can't really see how you could mod this game considering it it purely created by the player! The only thing that could be added, I guess, would be extra textures and colours. (that's right, it's splt with a 'u'! ) Apart from this, I don't really see much else you could add.

Well, a bit true I guess......but textures, exchanges of flora, creatures, planets, etc. You can mos tlikely mod this game, with some things like: Skip phases, make new UFOs, things like that.
