Will calls it 'Proceedural Reproduction'.. Uhh, surprise. I don't think it is any more than just jumping around on a nest, but... who knows what will happen.

And places I think most of us would rather not see it go. I think if you did something like that, it would be an arm or a leg. If you make it from the blob, it would just be part of the creatures body. Atleast I think that's how it would work.
I'd think that for the game to treat a certain thing as a certain thing, it would have to be a specialized part from the left toolbar, i.e. you can shape out an eye, but it will only see if it's from the eyes category on the toolbar. So, unless there's a category, (I doubt that) no.
Ah, but you can't forget the jazz music. Seeing creatures jump around on a nest is nothing without jazz music.

No, not really... I guess we could debate whether or not you could have live births, but there's already some threads out there about that...
Try making some nests, then play the jazz music. I wonder if you will be able to say what you want the nest to look like in the game, or will that be procedurally generated for the type of creature as well?
Mmm... I think they're gonna look all the same. At least, the ones in the trailers and displays were the same.
