Spore Expectations

    Expectations

    With a game like Spore it becomes painfully obvious that much of it's growing fanbase (us) are expecting certain things from this game. Some things are far more general (a seamless path from micro-organism to galactic powerhouse) to more specific (by shaping a hand a certain way it will effect how it works).

    My question is, what is your expectations for Spore? Are you just sailing along side it, happy with whatever you get? Or is there something in particular that's keeping you on the boat?

    For me, I really hope the microbe, creature, tribal, city, and civilization phases are only half the game. That the space stage will hold plenty to do, even after you have tech'd out your UFO (besides the usual colonizing and other racal contact).

    I think, because I've played a few other games with creature creation systems similar to Spore's (things like the game figuring out how creatures should move depending on their shape, size, structure) that I am sort of expecting Spore's to be quite simple and yet still intuitive and powerful enough to let my imagination run wild with it.

    I think that's what Will and his team are trying to do anyway, their main goal with this game is not only to provide a rich and diverse experience but to break new ground in player/character customization and enhance ease of use and flexibility in those fields.

    So yeah that's what I'm expecting of Spore, exactly what MAXIS is hoping for.

    Well, I am kinda the same with Spore as I was with Simcity 4 & Sims 2, waiting. The game may change slightly along the way, but it's probably for the better if they were to throw away some things for now.

    lainehart has a great point here. Maxis' Spore will be generally what she stated.

    I do have a few things I am really hoping are changed:
    -1 UFO to space 'fleets'

    and that's really it for now :smile:

    I really don't care what they don't have, as long as the game is powerful enough for me to make any creature I want, and by that I mean ANY. I also hope there is alot more to the space phase then what WW has said. I mean sondbox and missions is going to be uber fun, but I'm hoping for more (not really expecting it though).

    Just remember, there can always be a Spore 2.

    I wish they'd just release it and patch the bugs later >_<

    Mm... If there's going to be a Spore 2, it'll probably just be like an expansion pack with a bunch more stuff. No serious changes to anything, but maybe adding a few more phases or something... If that's possible.\

    Ha! I just thought of one! Civilian Stage! It would play like GTA! Squee...

    hmm...Spore 2. I think spore two has a good chance of happening, maybe improved graphics/gameplay but nothing as big of a change as sims1 to sims2. But I know there will be Spore expansion packs, maybe to add some new feet or a new terraform layer or just enhance the genisis tool.

    But most downloading, if not all, will be done automatically with an internet connection. But I am most certainly expecting to see downloads!

    Don't you want to share your creations? :shocked:

    think of the changes b/w Elder Scrolls III and Elder Scrolls IV.


    They're both great games, but there's always room to add more and improve.
