Hi, I am WAY behind most of but..... a long boring story wont go into details, but i found in a box 'the sims 2'. Well I thought hay never really played it give it a go, lets say 10 days later and I am hooked. My problems is my newi8sh main character was a love rat. in his finest hour he had 10 different women as lovers, he had 20 plus friends. This is in my own created sim town not any of the three starter towns. He thought, after being a mayor, a tycoon, a team owner, and running a hospital, it was time to settle down and get married. So his first love, Michelle the maid, he proposed she accepted (accidently adopted a child, but that was good tho in the end, a girl) arranged the marriage asked two of his former lovers over to witness and hired cassidy the barmaid (another lover to work, the witnesses were marisa and arcadia the repairwomen. Great scene dont you think? so it kicked off straight away, got the marriage going, and Michelle scrapered, cassidy and marisha were arguing, so i proposed to Arcadia and surprise she accepted and they got hitched there and then. They had a good life as a family raised a good girl and I let Arcadia pass away naturally ( wantede a gost and a funeral plot in the back yard) and Jasimin hte daughter to move out. Thing is now I have a huge problem, he has started the military carrier and needs his friends for promotion and no one talks to him anymore no one phones. He is immortal as you will have gathered and maxed out on everything, you need 30000 ponts for the lyxia, 2 lyxias a month thats 61000 points which is 11 paintings a month. he sells them for 8-900 now each so he isnt skint either. I do have over 90k points already in the bank. So in conclusion, I need friends, no one talks, he has two 'girlfiends' left, one is a friend/best friend, everyone else is below 10 on both relationship scales bar 2, and those two wont talk, or chat when present. i have been able to raise a few points on a few people by e-mail, repaired the pc 3 or 4 times, is there an easier way to get his friends back? Is the guy dead in the water? his usual playing chess poly doesnt work either, no one wants a game for longer than a minute (community lot i made) hiring cassidy (bartender) and try to buy her friendship doesnt work either. Do I have to admit defeat with this character? get him to pack his bags and move into a one bed bungalow to paint his live away? or is their hope he can fullfill his dreams and work his way thro the rest of the carriers. Your sugestions and comments are very welcome, remember I have just Sims 2 out of the box and no expansions (Yet). If all else fails Jasmine (the daughter) will live a long life, and do the things her father can not if all else fails, and she will have one lover, not ten, and over a dozen friends, she will raise a family and try to the the child into private school. Probably the safest way to repair friendships is to have your sim keep calling his old friends just to chat. If he doesn't have to work, he can just keep calling other sims all day. Then, once he's brought their relationship scores up to an acceptable level (35 to 45), he can call them and invite them over one at a time. Have him "Hang Out" play Kicky Bag and joke with them. Try not to make them fall in love, as having more than one lover quickly leads to disaster - as you have discovered!
Thanks Sacharissa, I will give that a go, quit his job and build him a new one bed bungalow, his three story place has had the top floor cut off, i removed hte stair case, he only needs the two floors and michelle isnt wondering al over the place. Yeah it was fun tho especially the wedding, I was in fits that Arcadia said yes and they got married there and then when the other two were fighting. still got a score of 'disaster' lol
Fortunately they didnt, it does sound like a right chav wedding tho, esp with the new arrival next day. I assure you all tho after being a mogul in the business, political and medical sectors, too name just three, Gavin Whooppee (yes i did call him that) is no chav.
He is dead in the water, the chat and join options don't work for him, I did manage to get him upto 5 friends but that was such hard work when you can not chat, and when the ask to join or join options do not work too. So I am just going to leave him be, let him be another sim in the community, I will build a new starter house and a create a new character. This time he/she will keep their pants on.
Have you tried just introducing him to new friends? Finding new townies or NPCs for him to chat to? Maybe creating a few new sims for him to interact with? It might be easier for him to make new friends than repair old relationships. Sounds like a whole lot of fun though. Did you build up the skills naturally or did you cheat? It's such hard work building up all the skills, I admire anyone who has the patiences for it. Although I suppose if you're putting your sim through all those careers you'd have to anyway. LOL I've never tried to get a Sim through as many careers as possible. Sounds like a good theme for a new challenge in my game. Cass.
Cheat? didnt know you could. i did see the age off thing in the manual but whats the point, you earn so many points the lyxia is very easy to get hold off and use. i built the skills up by studying and doing naturally. i have recentlly went and got open for buisness and nightlife, he is doing ok now with all the new sims. also creating new sims. and he is a grandad now as jasamine i married and had jessica who is all grown up. god this game is so addictive, i can not remember what my life was like before. i am constantly thinking of new stuff for them all to try, 24/7
