Brand new Intel iMac - is running Sims 2 terribly!!

I bought a brand new Intel iMac and just uploaded the Sims (for OSX). It looks spectacular on the widescreen, and runs extremely smoothly and loads very fast. However! When I'm actually playing the game I get random blue flashes. Like the whole house will disappear and flash back on, and big blue blocks will flash around. It's so annoying I can't play it. It happens on all houses - big and small.

I have custom content installed but I've tried running the game with it enabled and disabled and I still have the problem. I updated my software and it still occurs. I've also run it on different resolutions. I have some downloaded lots installed - could this contribute to the problem?

The game was much slower and choppier on my old iBook, but it wasn't having this problem at all!

If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it! I'm disappointed with my new, otherwise awesome computer :(

The new hardware may simply be having trouble with game. I suggest you raise this as an issue at aspyr support. Stay tuned here, as well, because we do have a small, but beautifully formed, hard-core of Mac users. The trouble is they have so much fun playing the game on their darn awesome iMachines, they don't place a high priority on reading World Sims :p

Ok. I did some research and for future reference everyone: the 20" Aluminium Intel Macs are not compatible with the Sims 2. It's the graphics card. Apparently Apple changed them without informing Aspyr.
    Such a shame. :(

Aw that sucks, doesn't it? Hopefully Aspyr will release a patch. I suggest you keep a watch on Aspyr's website for news.
